I still had that smile on my face :)

Funny, I made it at least a block past there before someone yelled at us. Except I think he said "F*** you fat C***s".

Not sure who he supported.

Well played South. Bloody good kicking.

South, extremely efficient and damaging against Glenelg last night...but what about the other 7 teams in the comp? You turn into spuds against anyone but Glenelg. :?

what is it about South at Glenelg - said to Mrs zz as I picked my tips that South will get up...as I picked the Bays. Grrr. Ah well, well done Panthers!

Well having michael Wundke back in the side made a difference. We were pretty efficient against north Adelaide having 50 to 60 less dispoals but still managed to win by 16.

Huge game next week for the Bays, at a guess there was 4000 there tonight with 3500 Bays fans, expect 6000+ next week given good weather.

Im heading down there next friday. Didn't Glenelg and Sturt draw over 13,000 couple years back?

Well done South. thoroughly deserved their win

Smashed us in contested ball, especially after half time and played much more direct footy.

We morphed back into our 2011 selves. reality check for when we deviate from how we have played in the last two weeks.

4900 crowd?? Crikey looked barely like 3000. Go figure.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I didn't think the crowd was that big to someone pointed out that there were people in front of the scoreboard. That area is quite dark (the outer not the field) and did look quite full. As a venue, lighting is as good as any, and the clubroom and breakout area after the game is a great set up. There were more past players there last night than I've seen for a long time. A credit to Glenelg. Liked the hall of fame plaques.

The game was quite interesting and Ron and his 27 assistants thoughts pre match as to how Glenelg would play was spot on. Glenelg's ability to press and to play on directly is very damaging when executed properly. I thought Logan and Salopak were very damaging with their ability to win the ball, run and deliver inside 50. Probably 8-10 times from mid way through the first to half time. After half time, this changed. South controlled the ball for much longer periods and Glenelg played far more indirectly which helped us. Witness the switching of play upon winning possession and kicking across goals to contests. Kirkby and Kirk (I think) who were damaging early when forward were having to lead further and wider which made them having to find players inside fifty rather than shots on goal and our defence was very disciplined and committed. Tackling from both sides was good and when I looked at the champion data stats this morning I now know why we consider them rubbish.

Some of the AFL's. O'Shea had his first game ever for us and gave away four free's. He will play again for us next week I would think on that performance. Otten was a solid contributor in his first game back this year. Lynch for Glenelg certainly found the ball but disposal let him down. Lyons looks a likely type. Not as good as his game against North but he must be in the mix for a call up at some stage.

I was dissapointed that Brad Crabb was in the reserves as he has been a loyal club man through some very lean times and I hope he can fight back. Otten coming back from the crows I think caused this (his form has been down as well) and an in form Bradd Crabb is vital for our success. I think two of our players are very close to a run in the two's and as we regain players off the injury list competition for spots will increase. Good.

Wundke looked fully fit (surprising) and he certainly provides a target in the square. Andrew Ainger who has been filling this role continues to impress with his high level of determination to win the ball ( chase, tackle, smother = commitment). Bass played well around the ground and his non rucking efforts are improving well. He has won me over. Will Dowdell be the same?

Sensational effort by the boys. Our defensive pressure when we dont have the footy is the key to our success. We were all over the bays in periods tonight. Im with you Doc .... absolutely baffled with the omission of Crabb. Doesnt make much sense to me. Always puts in a solid effort. Only caught the second half of the game last week on TV and as i mentioned before when our defensive pressure is down you wouldnt want to be a backman in a South jumper. How many times did Centrals blokes run through the corridor by themselves ?? Im sure the big fella would have copped it on the chin and will bounce back

I hear the emporer was on fire at the dinner. Slamed all the experts that tipped them to finish on the bottom half of the ladder suggesting they had proven them wrong! Then accused the sanfl of stealing their gate money!

South's motto: 'We exist to win against Glenelg'.

We got smashed in the centre and at the stoppages around the ground. Struggled to hold the ball in our forward 50, got led to the ball all night, poor disposal (I swear all clubs are having issues with these balls), poor converting for goal, too much left for too few.

I can't believe Ottens wasn't listed in the best in the Addy? Kirkby was hardly sighted all night.

Scoreboard lights appeared better than they were against West, however, the candle on the time clock blew out in the last qtr. :) Scoreboard attendant could have put the AFL score up.

A great win against an inform side. We had almost everyone on the same page and our attack on the footy was great. We used the middle of the ground well and directed it well to forwards Wundke and Ainger. McNamara was very good for us in defence and Bass was on top in the Ruck, he continues to improve every week. However the game was won in the middle and Nick Liddle dominated particularly in the second half. This guy is an elite sanfl player, he is small in stature but gets in after it and uses it very well.BOG in my opinion. I also thought Otten was very good but would not trumpet his exploits too loudly as he looks quite good in a blue and white jumper.
The lights at the Bay were fine. However the 2 small nightlights (the timeclock one gave up the ghost during the last qtr.) to illuminate the time-clock and the scoreboard are completely inadequate.Perhaps the scoreboard attendant could grab a hurricane lamp next time.
i too was very disappointed to see "Muddy" Crabb playing in the twos. Im sure he will bounce back and be back in the league side soon. One thing is for sure he could never be guilty of not giving 120%, and as someone mentioned in a previous post,at times being a defender at South is a bit like standing in the way of an avalanche.

South deserved the points ... were far more efficient and direct up forward.

The Bays wasted a lot of the ball, didn't handle the pressure very well at times and had far too many turnovers.

The defence wasn't as organised as in earlier matches with Sam Shaw a big out.

The start of the expected yo-yo season with so many youngsters in the side.

Let's see how they react next week.

A good post Doc but can't agree with this. While I also admire his loyalty and dedication, we will not stop the big forwards in the league with Crabby. Hardy last week made him look like a two's player. Ron obviously also agrees with this and is looking for another answer. We need some big defenders desperately to take the next step, and Brad aint one of them
