no, you're WRONG! for years, the SANFL & its clubs have been a stand-alone competition but all of a sudden, now that we suddenly have the crows & the power, we're expected to think that we're here just to feed the AFL? Bull.....shit. tell that to the thousands and thousands of old timers in the past that wouldn't have even heard of, or given 2 hoots about a bloody VFL side.

Smacks of little knowledge and understanding of the SANFL. Fuddy Duddy indeed , you sound like one of "those " Crows supporters.

You two realise that every side in the AFL would beat any SANFL by at least 10 goals.

Ummm better standard of footy...

Are you really that unaware?

Understand that he (Leane) is making his presence felt. Has told baseball to remove the home run fence and not count on using Norwood oval to play their remaining games.

Yes I think we understand that .Do you understand that surely each SANFL clubs are out to be the best in the comp and to win a premiership is their ultimate goal ?

Not sure what your point is about getting with the times though. Has nothing to do with it.

Why would he do that ?

Firstly, I can't believe Bill Leane has chosen to go onto a forum. To me that's a receipe for disaster but anyway.

WWT have always been proud of their record of producing AFL players (and so they should be) and yet they have won 2 of the last 6 flags.

I sympathise with Leane on this case. What on earth do we want him to say? Of course he wants to win the SANFL premiership and he never said he didn't. How can he defend a statement he never made in the first place?

He just shouldn't be on the Forum at all IMO.

I think CEOs should respond only to letters or emails they receive rather than get caught up in the heat of a discussion forum. Surely he could find a spokesperson who could be a forum member on the club's behalf like CD does on here for the Eagles. Even then they don't need to get caught up in debates like he has, moreso being there as an information service to fans.

In fairness though, I have only ever read one of his forum posts that being the one re-posted in here! Maybe it is all fine (except for his spelling 8) )

He works for Norwood & represents the club, the Norwood supporters deserve to feel that he is on their side. Who goes to the footy to watch & say, wow, I hope he plays well & gets drafted?

Well there's no pleasing some of the "experts" on here is there?
From having the audacity to actually use a modern medium to communicate directly with fans, making a minor spelling error and claiming the reply is nothing but spin

Winning the flag is a priority that really goes without saying and the draft related comments have been blown way out of proportion. It's a part of modern football.
If his foremost priority is genuinely getting players drafted, then any Norwood fan would know that they and others at the club won't stand for it.

Sounds like the CEO can't win here.

If he keeps a low profile, then a percentage will say he is unapproachable or not keeping in touch with members/fans.

If he makes himself available to supporters, then a percentage say he is wasting his time in exchanges.

For what its worth, if he chooses to answer questions posed from members and fans, that can't be a bad thing for the club and fans, and reduces the risk of misinformation and rumours on issues, IMHO.
