Don't worry I'm sure you'll work out a way to have a go at Glenelg at some stage.

The fact that trial games are being played during round one is a sure sign the inmates have taken over the asylum.

That better HP?

Um......ok Topsy .

Not sure what Glenelg have to do with it though.

But if trial games are your thing ...... well good for you. ;)

It can't be put simpler than that.

Anything else you need explained rnb?

1 There's no blatant attempt to drive down crowds.

2 Of course it's compromised by the AFL competition. That's the reality of SANFL life. I'm sure some clubs ask for a draw that doesn't clash with certain AFL games.

3 If you think it's a blatant attempt to drive down crowds, who is doing it, topsy?
You predicted no such thing, you accused another clubs supporter of being paranoid and I reckon that shows a dramatic lack of self awareness as you follow Port, a club who've turned insular paranoia into an art form. I took much cheaper shots in my previous post btw.

Trial games shouldn't be being played parallel with round one, it's as if they gone out of their way to usher in the season with as much of a damp whimper as possible.
I was of the understanding that trials are organised by the clubs.

Nah, SANFL coordinate those as well. Clubs have more say in who they play but SANFL finalises the draw.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

well i wouldnt complain if glenelg were to play a trial at the same time as another league fixture for points. In reality how many fans from a club would go to a neutral game - very small % I would suggest. and given the round 1 fixtures are night games i dont think the trials will clash

So while negotiating the broadcast rights for the next 5 years, the players' wages for the next 3 years (which has taken about 9 months) and establishing a new club in Sydney, the AFL has also found the time and interest to have some negative input into the SANFL programme. Amazing.
They also put $50,000 into the lights at Richmond Oval, not really the actions of a mob hell bent on driving our crowds down.

Eagle Trail games cannot be played at Woodville for example because of Cricket finals, but they could be played at Thebby or Max Basher Oval.

Bloods08 the U/18 Trial won't be at Glenelg as Cricket will still be using the oval. Last minor round game isn't until the 17th March.
