2011 Best and Fairest Awards

Postby The Sleeping Giant » Sun Oct 16, 2011 10:38 am

Hope Thomas took the defeat ok. Will there be any rule changes next year? I see they gave him a trophy to keep him happy.

So long as he didn't get votes taken off him unfairly I'm sure he'll be happy. Hilarious that a valid issue seems to have stung you so personally.

Valid it may be, not well worded in the article and as I said I on that topic I am not sure Thomas was quoted in context. What pisses us North fans off re the whole MM is the scant respect shown to Allan and his achievement to win 3 MM's. I have read the various various SANFL supporter forums and some of the rubbish written about Allan being a seagull, outside receiver, collecting soft cheap stats / kicks is not only way off the mark, not supported by his stats but mainly it is downright insulting.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

EXACTLY

I know for a fact that there was a lot of what Thomas said that went un-quoted in the article. It was selective quoting by the journo to make a headline grabbing article.

Agree with you otr about some of the comments made about Allan on other forums are just wrong and innapropriate but then, the same thing can be said about some of the things posted about Thomas as well on other forums.

Agree Allan is Awesome, I spent a couple of minutes just watching him at a game this year and the amount of running he does to get into position to receive or get the ball shows why he is the premier on baller in the league.

Well deserved 3 times MM.

P.S I'd take McKenzie over Allan very day of the week though.

COOL!

I've learnt today if you put a comment in big writing and make it red that it means your opinion is more important than someone elses!

Congratulations to all the B&F winners.

Great to see Froggy win the B&F, he has been the heart and soul of our mid-field / half-back line for a few years now and this award is well deserved.

Thommo has said for the last couple months that Sansbury would win it.

A shame that Thommo couldn't also predict Eddie taking his eye off the ball in the last minute of a grand final then.
