If the Sunday Mail journalist sources are to believed then there could be a few gaping holes to fill first......

Have heard on pretty good authority that Lyons will be back in Vic next year, but the other 3 players named should be all ok? Fingers crossed... Hopefully the club get out the pen and paper during the Mad Monday celebrations! :partyman:

On the game the panthers had a poor first term and worked back into it by half time. Got within a kick during the third but couldn't sustain it. Probably spent far too much energy the week before?

..gave up on reading the Sunday mail about 10 yrs ago...
they will give you half a dozen sunday mails if you purchase a footy budget.I rest my case. ;)

-Surely it wasnt 6 goal Leigh Treeby

Yes Treeby played a very good game today. A couple of times each season he will have a big one. Trouble is he goes missing big time between outings. Hopefully he is able to string together 2 good games in a row. He has so much talent I just think he has wasted so much of it (injuries or not).

But as for the game you good see the eagles were switched on right from the start. Its amazing how much better we look and we take the game on, play on and go long and direct. We look a completely different side. Our pressure was great throughout and there were two really strong tackles in particular (one by Treeby in the first qtr and one by Almond in the 3rd qtr) that I think resulted in goals. Terrific stuff. Also there were a couple of times where Rimmington showed a lot of desperation to keep the ball in the forward lines which is just what we were lacking last week.

Toumpas is a class act and will be lost to the AFL next year unfortunately. He really made Godden look foolish for not picking him last week. His pace, class and delivery are just what we need to balance the likes of the slower stoppage players like Cicca, Powell and Lewis.

The only players I thought had fairly average games were McKenzie, Lane, and Tiller. I am very concerned about Tiller in the side but not really sure who to replace him with.

Was very worried at the 8 minute mark of the 3rd quarter when SA got to within 5 points.
Credit to the Eags to lift their intensity and nail the game.
Allmond was terrific in the 3rd term when played as a 'run with' role
Treeby was terrific after a poor game against legs
Tiller a concern, wouldn't like to rely on him to save a game
Need Angus next week but seems unlikely
Lane needs to go, just doesn't do enough, Hall a better option and will give run
Toumpas is a gun
Well done south on a competitive season, Fuller is a good fit for you and many Eagles supporters still rate him as a coach
Luck is where opportunity meets preparation

He was about 4 years old when Cicolella started playing in the Eagles league side in 1998

Yep set u guys up like he did with the eagles in the past(he inherited a much better side at oval ave) .ron has and will continue do a great job with south(he has a better recruiting budget with u than with the eagles) :D .
But dont forget he took the Eagles to a 124 point loss in a GF .Plus he is also one of two coaches to win a flag against Centrals .
