Money might be the reason why PA miss the 5
They have travelled twice this year for the Foxtel Cup
The results of the games after travelling
A 100 point loss to NW
A loss to GL by 14 points at Alberton [in the other 2011 Alberton game PA beat GL]
Was it worth PA being in this comp, were they in it for $$$$ ?????
This will be the 3rd time these 2 sides meet in 2011 in the Home and Away season
Not 1 game at Alberton
Again was it for $$$$$$ ??????
Did PA give up a home Alberton game to play at AAMI in round 1 ?
Did NW agree to this if PA played a scheduled Alberton game at Norwood in one of the next 2 games in 2011 ?
Whatever the reason its unbelievably unfair to play a team 3 times without a Alberton game
Will all of this cost PA a finals berth ?
PA knew there were two games at Coopers later in the season when the 1st round game was moved to Aami. I believe it was PA's choice that the game was moved there so not playing Norwood at Alberton was PA's choice and their problem. (won't lose sleep over it)
Sometimes there is a bigger picture than just a single game of football. Port Adelaide moved a couple of their home games to Footy Park to gradually start bringing the supporter bases together. The AFL don't help the situation by enforcing an hour between games making it a long day for some. I believe they will be reviewing this long break for next season.
And Brett Duncanson said the Foxtel Cup was important to start getting games and match experience into our young players. I believe the rationale is sound and hope they get the opportunity again next year. Tony Bamford already put his hand up for PAFC inclusion in 2012.
