Port, West, Glenelg and Sturt still to be assessed - can any of these club's supporters help out?

From the 21 who played yesterday:

a) came from other SANFL Clubs (and who?) - Willits (was on the power's list but stayed when delisted)
b) are listed with the Crows/Power (and who?) - Davenport, Webb (ours), Moran
c) are recruits from interstate (and who?) - Caruso, Birss, Macreadie, Anderson, Hill, Silvester, Piasente, Thompson, Morris, S Ezard
d) are a product of the club's junior development program / Southern Football League? (and who?) - Fielke, Caire, Beech, Bricknell, Carter, Homburg
e) are from some other category not named above (and who?) - J Ezard (recruited from interstate by the power. Stayed with us when he got delisted)

We also have recruits Brad Fisher, N Caruso and Ferguson and local players in Ben Fisher, Green, Rankine and Hartlett on our injury list at the moment. Also Schmidt, Lobbe and Pettigrew playing AFL at the moment who have played a fair bit with us this year.

Norwood have got amazing value for money from Doyle this year. :D Someone else can fill you in OTR, maybe there are some things about our players you don't know.

Wasn't the case with Davis more that James Moore didn't rate him?

I love North supporters complaining about people signing on for more money, it appeals to my highly developed sense of the ridiculous. Anyone else hear of the alleged conversation where Damon White told Peter Rodhe he could earn considerably more at North than he could at the Power?

Really pleased that nearly half of Norwood's team came from it's juniors, it's testament to the investment we've made over the last few years.

Norwood have always seemed to do that better than other clubs. My two lads both went through the Norwood development squads, they never went much further as Nwd was very keen on taking college kids over some good talent, consequently the leftover went back to junior clubs in their areas and have been good local footballers. Any way, one of my lads continued with his cricket and the other continued with his basketball.

Didn't rate him after Davis nominated his price is closer to the truth. I think you will find Davis rated himslef a lot higher to many others not just James Moore. As I said in my earlier post - it doesn't matter, Norwood and the player were happy and agreed to terms and he has moved on and has been very good for Norwood.

I agree with most of the names above. And that is just SANFL. There must be lots more running aroung in WAFL and other leagues.

I am probably preaching to the converted but the AFL policy of drafting 17 year olds really has to be questioned. Unless a 17 y. o. is an absolute start and ready to play at the AFL level a better system would be to leave them with their local club to develop and take ready to play players now. Local clubs should be financially compensated (better than ther are at present) for their development role and I am sure that a business case would show that is a cheaper option for the AFL than drafting 17 y o who don't make it. This is what is missing from football at the moment and overall plan which suits both the AFL clubs and the "feeder leagues".

Cohen Thiele was recruited from Loxton.
Not sure if that counts as a junior product. He may have played 19s?

Don't think he did play in the 19's, I think he came to club and was on the Senior List from the start?

I thought that was the case.
I was playing cricket with him and I'm pretty certain he went straight to seniors.

OK

a) from other clubs - 0 (There are no players at Glenelg who have played League or Reserves at any other SANFL clubs, but I think there are players at every other SANFL club who have done so for Glenelg, this was true at the start of the season at least)
b) Crows/Port - 4 (Hitchcock, C Cornes, Salopek, Sellar) 3 of the 4 are local
c) Interstate recruits - 7 (Kane x2, Grima x2, Kirk, Adlington, Kirkby)
d) Locals - 10 (McMahon, Panozzo, Snook, Ruwoldt, Allen, Mules, McGinty, Earl, Edwards, Armfield)

PS If I was to name our best 21, you would probably replace 4 of the locals (McGinty, Earl, Edwards, Armfield) with 4 recruits (Cranston, Tenace, Murphy, Rudolph)
