All but a few features two clubs we all love or love to hate.
Just shows how important to the SANFL a strong Norwood and Port are.

North, Glenelg and Port supporters generally travel well to Elizabeth no matter what the on-field form is.

Norwood and Sturt supporters travel well when the team is doing well but tend to drop off when the teams are struggling.

South, West and Eagles supporters tend to have very small travelling support to Elizabeth regardless of form.

Not according to HOORAY PUNT. And he would know cos he heard it from someone.

Matt , I was TOLD AND READ that your contingent of supporters at Elizabeth on the weekend was woeful , are you disputing that and saying it was a good healthy crowd of Bay fans ? You seem to know it all. I assume you went so you can tell us first hand. ;)

The bay turnout was the worse at Elizabeth in a very long time.

They are normally one of the better supported sides when playing in the North no matter how the side is travelling.

Not disagreeing. A strong Norwood and Port has the potential to lift crowd numbers significantly. During the one port campaign there was a lot of misinformation though (particularly by a Port politician). Interestingly here are some figures on average home match attendances from 2006-2009.

2006 1st CD (4,115), 2nd Glenelg (3,455), 3rd Norwood (3,412), 4th Port (3,325), 5th North (3,193)
2007 1st CD (3,830), 2nd Norwood (3,531), 3rd Sturt (3,263), 4th Glenelg (3,091) 5th Port (3,042)
2008 1st Glenelg (5,158) 2nd Norwood (3,871), 3rd CD (3,698), 4th Port (3,423), 5th Sturt (3,334)
2009 1st Glenelg (4,024), 2nd Sturt (3,616), 3rd Norwood (3,579), 4th CD (3,121), 5th Port (2,991)
(Port feature a lot higher when home and away is taken into account)

Yep but my point was simply about the top 4 historically ,no doubt Centrals have had some good numbers of late.

I think you're probably right with the above statement.

Not so correct with the posting, "These figures reflect many years of footy ,still the top 4 crowd drawers are Sturt ,Norwood , Port & Glenelg ." Also with the thread title being "crowds this Century", anyway you've now clarified what you meant.

The 2006-2009 home attendances wouldn't be the figures to support your point.

Having a look at the remaining games I think these games are the ones to attract more than the average required ,weather permitting.

R15 Sturt V Port , followed by Norwood V North
R16 Will Struggle , maybe Eagles V Norwood , Sturt V South Unley
R17 Port v Glenelg
R18 Port V Norwood Central V Sturt
R19 Glenelg V Sturt Norwood V West (night) Port V North ( Sunday )
R20 Port V Sturt ( night) North V Norwood
R21 West V Glenelg (night)Port V Central
R22 Cenntral V Norwood Glenelg V Port
R23 This round may depend on where teams are placed , if the placings are still tight it has potential to get reasonable crowds which may not normally get but could also be the opposite.
