Can we get a balanced view from you Rucci ? Your agenda is getting boring and you are not putting the whole picture on the table but that's what you want I suppose. Your continuous childish attacks on SANFL people is pretty weak yet you and your AFL mate take exception to the truth from Les Stevens . Remember where these clubs came from and the agreement that was put in place , take a dep breath and start asking why the AFL clubs are struggling and stop blaming the SANFL clubs . Poor management , AFL footy is boring , TV and both teams losing - there is your answer .

The AFL burgers have got more saturated and trans fats on them. It may make you feel good when you eat them, but you feel like crap afterwards.

Its interesting regarding chapmans comments re: independence.

I thought Ruccis analogy was wrong and im tired of the whole Stevens letter "fiasco", but I thought overall I thought the premise of hsi article was bang on. There is plenty of infighting in SA football. It is detremental to the sport in this state. There are issues with the performance of both SA clubs which puts plenty of pressure on the state league and development. It is important that everyone in this state needs to work together to work out an outcome that is best for SA football. Healthy Adelaide + Port = more money for their football = better results at AFL level = more crowds & more money = more money for the SANFL = more money for junior development = happy SA.

Chris tis Rucci still going on this track. Would have thought that his attention span wouldnt have lasted this long, but hey, wrong again I guess.

Poor analogy by the way, HJ's buggers are sloppier but they do have the onion rings!

I agree with your premise that a healthy Port Adelaide and Adelaide Crows teams = more money and more people being happy, yet I cant see what the actual SANFL or its club presidents are supposed to do to make this the case.

It was not long ago that a Crows game would have no public tickets available, Now there are plenty and its because of the form of the club and the fact that people can see that no action is being taken over it, so why bother going to watch the side get outcoached and flogged week in and week out. The Crows problems IMO started with their reluctance to participate in Trading Week, Dangerfield and others were flagged as the next great superstars of the AFL and have failed dismally to deliver. The Crows list is thin and has been run down over the last several years. Many feel that along with Craig, Trigg should be sacked also and until moves are made in that direction, or the club suddenly becomes successfull, they are going to stay well outside of the 8 with low attendances to boot.

Port are a different scenario, hopefully with their recent cash injection they will be able to pay the full 100% of the Salary Cap and get some decent players along with more resources in the coaching department. Port Power in its current form will never be accepted by 50% or more of South Australians. Port need to make the decision either to return to the Prision Bar Guernsey and be the actual Port Adelaide Football Club, or alternativley to go think up a new name and colours and relaunch the club to try and target a new audience which will fail likely worse than the current situation. Port need to be unshackled by the AFL, not the SANFL to wear their proper guernsey and to be the proper Port Adelaide Football Club, this is not an SANFL issue. There are three Blue and White sides in the AFL, there is no reason Port cant be the club they were when they first applied to join the AFL.

Is this real infighting or perceived infighting based on Rucci's articles though? From what I gather HJ's & McD's get along quite well. Robust debate amongst them about this (and any other issue) is not a bad thing, far better than either party running all over the other.

The SANFL runs both clubs. The clubs cant make any decisions without the SANFLs backing. It is definitely up to the SANFL to work out whats going wrong. For instance, what would be wrong with having some sort of independent review of the WAFL system in comparison to the SANFL system. West Coast have been much worse than Adelaide have been lately and Freo have been terrible for 90% of their history and a finals alsoran for the other 10% and yet both clubs are healthy, both clubs attract near/full houses at Subi, both clubs make millions of dollars each year, both clubs put back stacks of money into the WAFL system. Now im not at all familiar with the health of the WAFL clubs so maybe Barto can give some thoughts, but they must be doing something right.

The WAFL have a clear different structure in how they garner money from AFL games (clean stadium) so surely its worth a review on why they changed to this system and why it seems to be working so well. Because at the moment we have Port thats basically insolvent, Adelaide thats saying independence needs to be a real probability and an SANFL thats essentially saying 'too bad deal with it'.

It could also be the fact that it is a public holiday and this "pissy one rag town" of a paper probably doesnt montior this most of the day. Although what were you expecting? I'm serious what were you expecting? The advertiser is what it is and if you do not like it then dont go to adelaide now, dont buy the paper etc. Get the Australian, although they are owned by the same company they are 2 very differnt papers.

I guess he could say we're all flipping the same burgers, if one burger joint is a big multinational with a massive advertising budget that pays it's employees 10 times what our little independant corner burger joint does. That comes cash in hand to take our best burger flippers and gives us a new mop from time to time and thinks we should be eternally grateful. That made us move our shop to a sidestreet to make way for the big black and white burger joint because they would get more customers. That gets to pick the best ingredients and leaves us the scraps in the back of the truck. But we're a burger joint that sticks to a traditional recipe that a portion of people prefer. And we're proud of our product and customers and won't shy away from that to say that the bigger joint is better.

Sorry Demitriou, you don't get to draw the iron curtain on everyone and control the written and spoken word of everyone in the country to say you and your code are perfect. We were a vital part of the AFL starting and not falling in a massive heap in the early 90s. And as much as you want to neglect us, the SANFL clubs are doing far more for your comp than you realise. If anything the "lazy SANFL clubs" that Rucci despises so much (wouldn't have anything to do with him being a Port fan though) have enabled the AFL to not worry about SA football and concentrate on Victoria for far longer than it should have. It's time to reward the SANFL clubs for what they're done and help them continue the great work.

Typically biased, agenda driven bed time story by the anti-christ. I and many others dont like McDonnels any more because it is sterile, boring and predictable AND you have to queue up to get your fries and get out of the joint. SO I and many others now go to Hungry Jacks more often so we can have an old fashioned REAL BURGER with beetroot and sause if I want it. AND I can have , with my mates, ice cold Coke[Beer] standing up out the front of the booth if that is what we choose to do!!!!!

And do you know why one of the Maccas is going broke? Because they decided to sack their head cook but still pay him 50% of their nett yearly profit for doing absolutely sweet @*)K all. And if thats not bad enough, they now have one of their best staff members who really makes the kitchen hum like a swiss watch, out in the neighbouring Hungry Jacks carpark waving a banner saying "COME HERE AND WATCH ME COOK A REAL BURGER " . AND !!! on top of all this they have decided to pull all their high school part timers into the kitchen and teach them how to cook a burger even though most of them are vegen!!!!

Well that's twice now they haven't posted my comments on Adelaide Now. I haven't said anything defamatory, racial or sworn. So going from others things that have been posted I'll just have to take it personally and threaten a law suit just as the scribe himself would do.
Maybe I'll see him again down at a local Torrensville bakery and can get a few tips from the great man.
