One of the pleasing things is we've managed to crack 100 points for the first time this season, and I reckon for the first time since early last year in the high-scoring match against North.

Unfortunately this match has been a tale of our season - we've won 11/18 first and second quarters this year but only 3/18 third and fourth quarters.

YEP! i reckon the pick of the umpires got the NWD v CD blockbuster at the parade. The next best get the PA v ST at footy park & the crap ones were sent down to Noarlunga on a potentially schite weather night.

Worst performance umpiring Ive seen.
I never sworn so much at a footy match. luckily there were no kids in the vicinity, I nearly busted a fricken vein! Everyone around me agreed South & Bay crew alike. It was SHITE!

You obviously were not at parade today. They were shocking aswell, 25m penalties galore, most of them for overstepping mark by 2mm. The umpire that looked like he was 12 years old was very average all day

South's 3rd 1/4 killed them...they started doing all the "cute" stuff I hate!!!
ie. little short kicks, more handballs, running in circles and did not got direct like they did in the 1st half.

It cost them in the end.

:(
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Yes there was some angst about umpiring. Fact is if the Bays hadn't had their usual start the game would have been won. If South had done what they should've in the first half they would have won. A draw probably not a bad result.

I'm hoarse.

LOL, you really have NFI ... you made these observations from watching the game?

Played a very good game and it was a very soft report.

Must be more frustrating being a Sturt supporter I would think. ;)

first half very ordinary with todd grima the ONLY winner we had, it was looking like a 10 goal win to south......get to the third term & al grima's run & goal lifted glenelg & the boys started to RUN & ATTACK, i just don't understand why they start running & attacking after halftime when they are behind why not DO THAT AT THE START OF THE GAME ? i was sitting with an umpire who umpired earlier in the day & he thought the grima report was a joke & didn't think it was even worth a 25 metre penalty (i thought it'd be a 25 metre penalty but not a report ffs), he said some of the umpires try to imput temselves on the game because they think only of themselves & not the game, he mentioned tony dey & michael avon as people believeing in their own importance, it showed with ''ding dong'' tonight, i can't believe that htb decision late in the game as grima got rid of it well in time, the umpire either got conned by the south players or just wanted to stamp his mark on the game, apart from todd's 4 quarter effort i thought kirkby & alex grima's spark were the other two players that stood up........................................................i'm still not sure whether we were lucky to get a point or unlucky to lose a point after being 11 points up during time on of the last term.

i went to norwood earlier in the day & the intensity of that match was more evident than tonight & i can tell you if we do not start a game running, taking risks & attacking at the start of the match they'll have a lead too big for us to run down

Random observations.

- Lucky to get away with a draw
- can't expect to win too many games when you only make an effort after half time
- it will take South 187 years to pay off those lights with the amount of supporters that turned up tonight
- BBQ was good, recommend the burger with the lot
- I knew it wasn't going to be a good night when we were based 3 metres behind one of the PA speakers ... if I want to have a basketball experience I'll go to Adelaide Arena thanks. Was waiting for the D E F E N S E chant, but alas, didn't eventuate
- Pagan's Paddock and ditching the zone in the 2nd half ... where's the like button
- SJABC wearing 6 layers of clothes ... Michelin Man lives on
- Mark Ruwoldt should only play WD so that he's not allowed into the 50m arc
- Can't decide whether Football Park or Arctic Park is colder on a winter's night
- 2 Grimas are better than one
- have no idea what's going to happen next week, the WLWLWLWL sequence has been broken
- Athelstone is not very close to Noarlunga, especially at night

i must admit the 'touched' set shot from a south kick in the goalsquare wasn't touched imho & those around me (glenelg supporters) thought the same......so perhaps we were a fraction lucky
