Yeah just going by what a Norwood supporter said in another thread 2011 is a bit similar to 2010 especially the availability of Taylor Walker.

He came back to Norwood for a couple of games last year and really kicked started their season which they went on with when he went back to the Crows. The same thing has appeared to happen again.

I'll be coming down from Loxton for this one with a one eyed Redlegs supporter. Should be an interesting day. He tells me he gets fired up at the footy...

He said on the 5AA SANFL Show tonight that he is 99% sure he'll be having the hernia operation on Thursday ruling him out until the after the bye in 5 weeks.
SOFT! ;)

He's played with the hernia ALL SEASON. Nothing soft about that.

I think the ;) meant he was joking mate?

Not that a hernia operation is something to laugh about. I tend to agree with whufc, if he has been carrying it all season, why didn't he have the op earlier (he said on AA tonight he was just playing with a jab before the game but not being able to train during the week)?

That being said, James, the NFC and NFC medicos would be fully aware of the situation and have obviously managed it as they see fit, and as Gags pointed out on radio tonight, teeing the op up to correspond with a bye allows him to miss one less game but maximise the recovery. Will be missed by the Legs for sure.

The injury list grows. With Boyd out for 6 to 8, another blow (maybe nutta's back) and Norwood lose Gallagher. If we lose Symes and/or Gunston they'll be big outs. Without seeing the teams, early tip Norwood by four goals.

Why is Boyd out, is his shoulder or his leg?

Would think with him out Waldhutter will probably get his chance at league level.

Boyd having another operation on the shoulder according to Jai Bednall in his Monday Morning Centreman article:

Jai Bednall wrote:Central (last week: 1). The Bulldogs will be without midfielder James Boyd for 6-8 weeks because he's having a shoulder operation. Ian Callinan would be a nice replacement.

Waldhuter wont play leauge this week whufc, I think a handy Boyd replacement might be a guy nicknamed Wingnut?

Josh Waldhuter wont be playing for the Dogs for a few weeks now, he is with the State Under 18's who begin their carnival this weekend in Sydney.

I would be surprised if Callinan was straight back into the league side.

Would have thought he would need a week or 2 in the ressies to gain match fitness.

What's the situation with Molyneux? I didn't see him in the reserves, although I wasn't there very long so could well have missed him. I'd heard he played fairly well agains South so if he's ok he might come up.

Callinan would be touch and go to play against Norwood, but with his fitness, class and the credits he has in the bank I'd bring him in if he says he's ok to play league.

I think at their best the dogs are still the best in the comp. Without Walker I have doubt about the Norwood forward line, while their midfield missing so many components that were there last year must be doubtful. The defense is still fairly strong I think, but the one weakness I see is when McGuiness has to worry about a player. If he's allowed to play off and not be accountable he'll rack up touches and chop off attacks. Make him stand shoulder to shoulder with a player and he looks vulnerable.

Dogs depth is being tested and their form against North was average at best. Unless the dogs manage to find what they had against Glenelg I think Norwood will close the gap to top spot.

Maybe Luke Habel? He's been in good form in the reserves.

Yeah, or Ash Duncan?

Not sure whether Charlie Molyneux will be right to go this week either for the Dogs, was a late withdrawal* prior to the North game with a hammy issue I think Graham.

Probably not a popular opinion but i thought Habel struggled in the ressies against North.

His use of the ball is still very iffy and probably doesnt get as much of the ball as he should at ressies level.

I think his a definate player of the future but he still has a long way to go.

If both him and Moleynaux are fit i would rather see Charlie get another crack.

Yeah, I agree Luke's disposal let him down in the 2's at times on Saturday, but nonetheless, he still got Best Player from the club:

IF Charlie Molyneux is fit, I agree he should be given a 2nd crack at league level for the Dogs.

I dont think he dominates reserve games enough for someone who has played pretty decent league football.

Burns the ball a fair bit as well, personally i would like to see him get forward a bit more a kick a few more goals.

Remember the ressies were terrible, he was the best out of a very bad bunch, someone has to get best player. Look at the ressies side from the weekend and he was one of the most experienced players out there except Ash Duncan the rest are 18-19 year old kids. He should be one of the better players. I think there was only 4 reserves players who have played league, Habel, Duncan, Milne and Cullen (1 game)

For how many league games he has played i think he should be doing abit better when playing reserves.
