Yep we need to boost our percentage to get further ahead of the other top-three spot contenders...

While has he hasnt kicked any 'big' bags of goals i think his form has been pretty good this season.

I would be interested to know how many games Havelberg has played in the last 2 seasons, Spelly? i dont think it would be a high percentage and i think this has been the most games he has stretched together in a fairly long time.

So far his combination with Obst has worked superbly i would love to see Matty Westoff in there as a third tall also.

Yes, the forward combo of The Berg & The OBST-acle is coming along deliciously! I can see at least 50 goals from each of them this season!

How has Obst been going ? His first game against Sturt he looked very dangerous and was good but I thought he would only get better ,looked a bit above the SANFL.

Has got better and better each game he has played and has really started to work well in tendem with Havelberg. Not only does he mark strongly and generally has finished off well in front of goal, he also crashes packs and ensures the ball gets to ground where the smaller players, or his very good 2nd efforts, can come into play.

Was very good against the Eagles a couple of weeks ago kicking 5 and setting up another couple while he only kicked 3 last Saturday night against South but gave off another couple and again, brought smaller players into the game with his attack on the footy and the packs. A very handy 'recruit' indeed for the Dogs.

Yeah agree with everything you said and his on track to kick 50+ plus goals for the year.

Only very very very small critisimn i would have is i think sometimes Obsts forgets how far he can comfortably kick a ball.

There was a couple of occasions against the Eagles where he kicked the ball 50 meters of one step and then later in the game has taken marks 45-50 out and given a quick little handball to a small midfielder. Obst being 55 out is like a normal kick only being 40 meters out. I wouldnt mind seeing him have a few more shots at goal especially within 55 meters provided his not on a bad angle.

I really believe that this type of attitude helps Centrals be where they are today. Their fans ,like Port of many years ago ,demand nothhing but the best. Pity somme Sturt supporters dont have the same attitude.

Yeah, there is no doubting he can roost a ball, probably the one question mark on Alan (which may have also attributed to him not playing more AFL) has probably always been his kicking action - has a slightly awkward ball drop - but as mentioned above, it hasn't been too bad in front of the big sticks so far this year.

I know when he was playing in the VFL he was often used as a ruckman or key defender and I reckon he even played some games for Werribee as a wingman as well. It will be interesting to see how he goes if (or when?) he used in these positions for the Dogs. He did do some forward line rucking last week and ended up with a few hit outs.

Dunno, that dribbling Troglodyte that was standing near Us the other night ALWAYS gives me the sh**s! He's an embarrassment & the opposition supporters have a field day with him!

I heard someone describe him as Dr Teeth

Yeah i remember a day a few years ago when i was standing on the outer wing at Alberton and they were about 10 meters away from us, we were winning by about 70 odd points mid last quarter when one of our players took a shot from a very tight angle, the player missed and Dr Teeth went off on this huge tirade about how 'we're not f**king millionaires yet dogs for f**k sake bury these maggots.'

Funniest and most embarrasing think i have seen at footy game in a few years.

Daniel Havelberg debuted in 2007 and his record so far is as follows

2007 19 games 39 goals
2008 15 26
2009 10 21
2010 12 15
2011 7 21

Note: The Budget listed Daniel with 20 goals before Saturdays game (incorrectly I believe), and he kicked 2 goals on Saturday night. The Advertiser has him listed with 19 goals this morning, it appears they printed last week's total and didn't add this week's goals.

Over to you Big Phil. ;)

Gotta love the media, they must have gone to the M. Rucci school of checking facts.

My figures for 2007 to 2010 were provided by the CDFC Annual Reports and this year's from match reports ( I may also be wrong, so be gentle please)
