Much of it is forced by lack of personnel .. We had only 1 forward today, and maybe only 2 decent forwards at the club.

That's not meant as an excuse, just reality.

And the norwood captain was he showing something. When he ran off and kicked the u know what out of an esky by the norwood bench!!

LMAO .. Seriously Michael, do you sit down to take a piss?

Your team has a good win and all you can do is whinge about the opposition

Im not sure if the hurt of last years final has brought this out in you, but how about applauding your own teams effort?? Afterall, you pretty much tore us a new one on our home deck - As bad as we were at times, I'd still say that's a fair achievement.

Maybe throw those bitter fish back into West Lakes mate .. You have enough to look forward to without being a whiny old woman.

Granted but...

I saw the same game plan last year Connie... & without wanting to harp on it, St. Kilda have proven that you can't win a flag with it & to be honest, so have Norwood.

To me it is suited to winning tight Minor Round games but not important finals.
There are no penalty shot outs in our game 8)

I reckon you're too quick in your assessment mate .. 1 season under the style takes a team from 0-4 to being 7 points short of the greatest team in the history of the universe.

You may well be right, but simple fact is that we wont know for sure this year because Norwood are behind (and I would argue WELL behind), the quality of personnel we had last year.

At the 20 minute mark of the 3rd quarter today, Jericho misses a goal he should have kicked, which would have been an 8 point ball game .. On the balance of play we should have been 8 goals behind, so for all our mistakes I'd suggest out structure kept us in a game we had no right being in.

We simply don't have the size, pace and quality as our opponents of the last 3 weeks IMHO, and obviously that's not going to change this year.

Saw the two lads on the ground, and several concerned faces around them .. Didn't sound good at all and hope both boys are ok, same with the fella on the hill who collapsed in the last quarter (well done to supporters and club medico's who were quick to respond).

I remember making a call after the first game against Norwood last year that they were certain wooden spooners so we'd be foolish to say a Norwood team under Bassett can't beat anyone when it counts. It's a long season...

I was stuck at work ( ) but listened to Life FM's excellent coverage. Was really impressed with how much the Eagles dominated after quarter time, especially given the outs before the game.

That number 57 goes alright hey? I wonder if they'll give him a higher number once he establishes himself a bit more. Has he been best for us every game so far this year? Would almost have another B&F sewn up already!

The only 2 players who could consistently mark the footy in the Norwood forward line were Jericho and Mckenzie
I award Jericho the votes in front of Mckenzie, at least he had to stand a player all day

Seriously, the Eagles were VERY impressive today .. Workrate, tenacity and intensity was very reminiscent of the Dogs last week, they just didn't let up until about time-on of the last quarter.

I thought Petrenko was the most damaging player on the ground, but he had plenty of partners in crime .... ******* football!!! :(

Eagles played well and for mine have changed or tweeked their game plan from last year .

It was frustrating watching EG dissect the NW extra 1-2 man defence today much better than NW trying to dissect the extra 1-2 man EG defence today

Considering the personnel we had today, a very solid Eagles effort. Petrenko, McKenzie, Jarrad, Lewis all superb. Hill and Staple acquited themselves well and although he makes some errors, Day is doing a fair job down back. Vince probably needs another game with the Eags. Still worried about Hentschell up forward although ball movement to him not that clean. Another tough game agaimst PAM next week and Bock will need some support against Mickeljohn and Maric.
