Hmmm .... actual skills training. Do you think it would catch on?

And reading dosiers on opposition players, as well as devising strategies to shut down the opposition, etc. That's the fascination of the modern game, everything seems to be more important than the ability to actually mark, kick and handball. Strange really.

Duldig was manned up the whole time, by Miles early who has been our better back player in recent times so no lack of respect. 2 of his first quarter goals were freakish.
By god he and Johncock look huge though.
I actually enjoyed the game, completely littered with errors from both sides and there's absolutely no doubting either side (along with South and Port) wont get close to the Top 5 but it was entertaining to watch it go backwards and forth.
Gilly loves playing Sturt but needed Alleway to kick better.
At one stage our on baller brigade was Delvins, Bennett, Armstrong (not the Crows player) so considering the inexperience of our side (I hadn't even heard of a couple of our ins) it was good to watch the effort at times.
Both lots of supporters on the hill having a laugh with each other in the last quarter at the turnovers. AT least both sides attacked and didn't kick that backwards carp that North did under Healey.

I've been pretty pleased with my tipping so far this year, going along alright...

Pretty happy with my estimate of the outcome from today as well...

In the LIVE scores thread, I wrote:
Should be a good contest, I think the home side might just be favoured by the wet conditions, so that being said, my tip is:

Sturt by 13 points

FINAL SCORES:

Sturt - 16.12 = 108

North - 13.18 = 96

Double Blues won by 12 points

Not too bad hey? :D

Seriously, how could North let a fat, slow, hack like Duldig kick 8

Pearce had 33 possessions and most were telling and accurate and if you dont think he was in your best 6 then you were either pissed or just trying to keep him from the Power ;) ;)

North season almost GONE!

1-4 with the Bays away next week.

Worse part for the Rooster imho is Allan is absolutly dominating, Alleway is going alright and Gill has stayed on the park. Most considered North to be a decent side if these 4 could play well, their holding their end of the bargain up.

Whats going wrong North.

Also something i noticed on t.v, i maybe wrong but did Jimmy Allan not start in the center square for beggining of the match.

Was he on the bench, up forward or something, thought it was a bit strange!

Does it even matter?

Apparently, from the fence signage at the ground today, you can still tune in for 24 hour sport on 1323am! :?

The stats suggest that the free kick count was 24-8 AGAINST the side that lead the game for most of the day and won the game. Is that accurate and if so, please explain? Seems an extraordinary stat in the context of the game. If a player had 16 more possessions than his direct opponent he would be BOG by a street. Maybe they gave themselves 3 votes!

Only good news of Duldig kicking a bag for Sturt is that he can't do it next week for the Bays!

1st it was Jarmans fault, then it was Healy's fault, now i suppose its Francou's fault.
Mmmmmm......I don't think its the coaches, maybe your medical staff can check if your players have any hearts.

Umpiring was terrible and very hot on holding the ball , in fact just stupid. Sturts best were Riley,Crane ,Sheedy, Gum , Thomson, Anderson and then Pearce Norsworthy ,Duldig with 8. Pearce got a lot ofthe ball but hardly damaging .

I agree it was an entertaining game to watch and not overly defensive boring crap.

Bayman - all ok with your young son mate who was being spoken to by 3 security staff ?

Got home in time to watch the last 10 minutes of the game and noticed it as soon as the ball went past it. Maybe someone hung the sign up back to front and there is a new ad on the otherside??
Trust the process.
