Probably still doesn't allay any doubts for some

keep it quiet but i enjoyed the WAFL vs VFL sides game and am looking forward to how the SANFL teams go against the better sides in the comp, hoping for SA victories than we will truly be the second best comp in Aus.

Has the club said you will be getting that?

This is what they said in a e-mail today

Without notice or consultation, the AFL has moved the scheduled pre AFL game timeslot at the Gabba to AAMI. Now the game shall be played AFTER the Power/ Freemantle fixture on May 21 commencing at 5.05pm. The AFL cited ground conditions as the reason for the change.

For Members who have acted in good faith and made private travel arrangements, your point of reference is the AFL. The Club will contact those members who booked a package promoted through Airport Travel. We shall in turn forward same to the AFL for consideration.

Doesn't say anything about getting a full, or any, refund.

very frustated player who had to take 2 shifts off because of travel time. Obviously there not going to compensate the player but obviously he isnt as keen on the foxtel cup now that it has cost him over $300 in work he could have done. Also has a GF who had paid for flights up to Queensland for the match, he is still considering going up there for the weekend.

Surely his employer would understand and give him his shifts back? You would think they would be understanding considering they employed a semi professional footballer. I guess his GF is in the same boat as the other people who paid for flights to Brisbane.

Not if the person who is covering the shift has already changed all her plans to cover for the player leaving and now wont give them up.

Joke of a competition. Moving a game's location a couple thousand kms is a thoughtless/careless move.

I'm certainly not 'pro-AFL', I just don't go along with 2 things about them:

1 That there is a big conspiracy by the AFL about every issue that ever crops up in the SANFL, and

2 I don't think whinging about the AFL is very productive.

On the contrary, I think it's great that the SANFL, IMO, is gaining strength. Crowds are up (which goes against the AFL conspiracy theory), the footy's good and the competition is even.

As for the football, I think it's silly to say that the AFL product is always terrible and the SANFL is always great. I'll enjoy a great game at AFL level and get bored by the many poor games.

If it comes to the crunch, I'll always follow the SANFL well before the AFL (as I've done all my life).

That's how I read it, unless the club has told those who booked through them something different I can't see any mention of guaranteed refunds

I'm not sure how much more clearer I could have made it when I broke the news.

Having money on North and West at crazy odds while hoping the champion will come from SA I hope they have all the matches here, I'm already 2 grand up!
