The way WWT played tonight anyone could've beaten them :(

Also they are missing a key forward eg Hentschell and maybe Salter, they cant rely on Grocke!!

A big lift needed for North next week

We lost Kurtze in the 2nd quarter? which left Wundke to do most of it helped out by Duldig and Johncock. If Aiden Reilly doesn't get elevated by the Crows this year there's something wrong, he was sensational tonight and I thought our best from last weeks debarkle. Chad Wingard was fantastic, reads the ball well and his second and third efforts are impressive as is his disposal.
The Weagles were terrible, showed a bit in the 2nd when I thought they might get on top but their defensive kickouts were a disgrace. Fumbling, dropping marks and general turnovers, stupid mistakes. With their big forwards and Kurtze going down I'm stuffed if I know how they didn't use it to their advantage.
Sturts pressure around the ball was really good, very happy, great result and gies some way to getting a respectable season on track and some sort of payback for last years final. =D>

Did you not find it wierd that the eagles didnt use Jacobs in the ruck? :?

Yes
They couldve dominated the ruck contests better, worth a try at least

Does anyone know what injury Kurtze suffered in the end? Was Jacobs injured? Once Kurtze went down I'm surprised he didn't go into the middle and expose Sturt ruckman. I was a bit worried once he went down but nothing eventuated. Sturt deserved to win whenever there was a Eagles player with he ball there were numerous Sturt players pressuring, it was fantastic to watch.

He rolled his ankle quite badly mighty hounds...

I was out at the Sturt huddle at 3/4 time and Angus had just taken the ice off the ankle and you could see it was quite swolen. May have done some slight ligament damage perhaps?

sturt could very easily be 2-1 at this stage, although horrible against norwood, we showed against the bays that we can still cut it, besides the shameful last quarter....will sturt be around the mar this year?

Judging by the stats, Chad Wingard must have had a pretty good game. Unfortunately for him, he could be living in western Sydney this time next year.

It has just been changed HOORAY PUNT, or at least the interpertation of it, along with a couple of other changes (see below link).

And for what it is worth, I think Richard Williams cops some unfair criticism at times (in general, not just your post HP) as I think he is one of the better umpires going around.

Thanks for that .
2011: If a player doesn’t make a genuine attempt to either dispose of the ball or knock the ball on when legally tackled, the umpire will delay his whistle and if the ball does not come out, penalise the player for holding the ball.

They got this wrong big time last night then.

Kurtze injured his ankle against Glenelg so it may be the same one and was surprised he played againnst Norwood .He would be in serious doubt for a few weeks which is a big blow for Sturt.
