I'll freely admit I wasn't all that happy with the Eagleton signing but so far so good, but I'll hold judgement until we play the Dogs.

Clinical performance from Norwood the pressure applied to Sturt in the 3rd qtr was fantastic. Sturt did play poorly though so that helped.

Jesse Aish's 3rd qtr goal one for the highlights reel. You know its a good night when Brady Dawe's shank kick from 50 ends up dribbling through for a goal. Persinos could well have kicked a bag tonight and could have had 3 in 1st 10 minutes but couldnt get any. Great for him to bob up and end up wih a couple.

Does the AFL rule for 'play on advantage' apply in SANFL? 1st Qtr Sturt had a free for a trip and after a shot at goal missed, were able to take another kick. Similar in the 2nd qtr Norwood had a free for an arm chop and a shot at goal missed everything, umpire waved that Norwood took the advantage and no re-take of the kick.

Tough run of games coming up. glenelg, Central, Eagles

To my admittedly untutored eye it looked like a very well coached and drilled team against an only marginally less talented but completely unstructured side. Norwood's ability to seemingly know where their teamates were at any stage was mirrored by Sturt's seeming lack of system. I also reckon we worked harder for longer both in close and our willingness to run hard to make space.

All in all a fine night to spend watching Norwood turn it on. I didn't even need to put on my Des Foster mask.

Anyone know what was up with Pfeiffer? Looks like possibly a fractured wrist?

I saw a trainer feeling his wrist when he came off (I was in a Spirit group directly in front of the interchange area) and Pfeif wasn't in great pain when that was happening. I don't think it is a serious injury, he didn't have his arm in a sling or anything major on his wrist afterwards even though he didn't take any further part in the game so hopefully only minor but will have to wait for the official word from the club.

As I said before, the differences in the umpiring at times is baffling. Over the shoulder, holding the ball, arms chopping, play on rule all were spasmodic in the " interpretations". I'm stuffed if I know any more but umpiring in the SANFL has been very bad for a few years now.
Norwoods ability to hit a target by foot o er a long distance and quick break was sensational as were their link ups with supporting or running players, left us for dead.

Sturt moved their home game from suburban Unley Oval to AdOval and the results are a big WIN for FNF in the city IMO...

regarding the proposed re-development of the old girl:
I spoke to as many members as I could last night(about 10-15 of all ages and most were indicating that they were inclined to vote yes unless something out of the ordinary happened to change their mind. Definitely a case of younger members gung-ho for it, older ones happy to be more cautious.small sample size of course.
Interesting point from my observation, to a man they were convinced that the State govt would 'make it happen' regardless of the vote of 20,000 SACA members;)
Funnily enough, with no special trains/buses put on(its 'only SANFL) it did seem to me that most folks either parked in the city and walked down or were on the standard Friday night PT. AND of course those precious view of the Adelaide Hills mean Jack schit at niht;) but that's one more thing for the old fuddy duddies to bitch about that has no consequence to the end result .

Language -Nerd interesting point, I actually found two SACA members(Sturt fans) who pronounce SANFL as Sann-ful rather than the more traditional and accepted in Adelaide sounding out of the letters S-A-N-F-L...I hate it when I occasionally tune into an AFL broadcast and the usually Victorian commentators refer to the Sannn-full and its WA counterpart, the Waffle. just grates, like hearing poor grammar such as, "Sailors from the HMAS Adelaide" and other basic errors in using English:(

**I'm 34y.o and I reckon I'll be a yes voter, just waiting until the final presentation is completed to ensure I hear both sides if the argument. I fear that like US politics(non-compulsory voting), the NO voters will be more motivated and thus will turn out in more force than the yes voters who are perhaps not as motivated and 75% required is a high number - I'm fearful...FNF in the city is a WIN in my eyes.
