BTW, did Norman make any moves when the Bays got within say 25 pts? I heard that Sheedy ran all day without a rest.

Happy to hear that the skills were there for at least 2 quarters. But worried about what it might do to the group mentally.

A 4 qtr effort next week please.

Pretty much sums it up for me, feel a bit guilty winning that. Thought Jaensch, Martin and Sheedy set up play beautifully and some of their run thru the middle was almost impossible to stop.

Bays have definately changed their game plan which was interesting to see

One of the more novel ways to win a match, but hey, I'll take it.

Oh, and another thing, sorry TSG, maybe next time ...

Good question about moves .Maybe Voice knows as it sounds like he was in the rooms after the game to hear Norman tear strips off players . Well that will work won't it ! Voice what's your opinion ofwhat hhas occurred at Unley in the last 12 or so months ? From what I read and hear there are a few Sturt supporters that think all is always sunny at Unley yet never see the whole picture ?

Can't say I've seen a final quarter of SANFL footy like that, especially considering the first 3 quarters, in a long time, if ever.

Great comeback by the Bays and devastating no doubt for Sturt who lost the game they should never have lost considering they got to 8 goals up when Brodie Martin kicked the 1st goal of the final term within 5 minutes.

I think the thing that sums up the game is:

Scoring shots / scores in final term:

Glenelg - 17 (10.7)

Sturt - 2 (1.1)

Here is my full scorers and better players from the game:

FINAL SCORES:

GLENELG: 2.1 (13) | 4.8 (32) | 4.12 (36) | 14.19 = 103

STURT: 1.5 (11) | 6.7 (43) | 11.11 (77) | 12.12 = 84

GOAL KICKERS:

GLENELG: R.Kirkby 3.2, M.Ruwold, B.Agnew 1.2, T.Grima, K.Tenace, B.Murphy 1.1, B.Kane, D.Kirk, T.Cranston, W.Hancock, D.Clayfield, P.Adlington 1.0, B.Kennedy 0.3, L.Panozzo 0.2, S.Rudolph, D.Meyer 0.1, Rushed 0.3

STURT: M.Duldig 4.1, J.Johncock, A.Riley 2.3, B.Martin, J.Plant 2.0, M.Stokes 1.2, L.Crane 1.1, A.Thomson, T.McIntyre 0.1

MY BETTER PLAYERS:

GLENELG: P.Adlington, B.Kane, S.Rudolph, R.Kirkby, B.Agnew, J.McMahon, K.Tenace, L.Panozzo, M.Ruwoldt

STURT: M.Jaensch, A.Thomson, L.Crane, J.Sheedy, B.Martin, M.Duldig, C.Wingard

Well, I haven't seen that before and we're pretty unlikely to see it again for a fair while.

4 goals for 3 quarters, followed by 10 in the last term.

I was asking what the hell just happened.

Our defensive line really struggled for most of the game, Sturt moved the ball beautifully and often had huge gaps to exploit by getting it in nice and fast. Luckily for us the defence wasn't tested much in the last term. How ten goals came about I can't really tell. The blue boys must have just stopped really, we just seemed to win almost every contest.

I put on my fat lady suit after that first goal of the last quarter like everyone else, still can't quite believe it.

Any truth that Sturt had a player ruled out due to the new concussion rule and finished the game with no fit bench? The bloods won, that is the main thing!

Just passing on what I was told by a mate who supports Sturt. He was not impressed that the alleged concussion occurred on the bottom of a pack and cost his side a player for rest of game.

Great feeling when your team comes from behind to win games like that.

Have seen Central do that twice once against Port and once against North both ten goal quarters while being 6-7 goals down happened in the nineties

BTW, had cricket pressos tonight collected my capatains premiership medal, 11 years of senior cricket in the making.

Might be true then as a Sturt player went down "somehow' I have been told.

Yes, it did happen at the bottom of the pack but I had the binoculars on the play and there was nothing deliberate in the young lad Wingard getting groggy or concused.

Basically, Wingard was at the bottom of the pack hustling for the ball when I think Glenelg ruckman Cranston (could have been Sellar or Kirk) came barging in to bottle the contest up and cause a throw up. Wingard is 17 years old and 68kg while Cranston is over 90kg so I just think the momentum and extra weight just meant the young fella was 'squashed' under the pack.

Certainly don't think that a 17 year old debutant not coming back onto the park was not the reason why Sturt gave up and 8 goal lead and allow the opposition to pinch the win with a 10 goal final term.
