Sturt's odds seem incredibly favourable... I wouldn't think Sturt would be much above 9th this season...

Norwood had their chance last year & choked :Hangman: don't think they'll get a 2nd chance.

I reckon their a chance... them and Glenelg and Torrens are the one's likely to meet Central.

If I had to go out on a limb and choose a team, I reckon it'll be the Tigers who make the grannie...

unfortuneately i can't argue with that NM, however for this season i don't think we'll make the grand final & i have doubts about making the top 5 to be totally honest, i think glenelg, sturt & norwood are chances to drop out & west & north chances to go up....so i wonder if north & west make it which two of those three drop out ????
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Same deal again isn't it if you were a punter? Wait until Central drop a couple of games during the season and back them then?

Central - they have lost a few key players, but depth & belief is amazing so should still be the ones to beat.
Norwood - have been hit very hard by the AFL draft & can't see them being better than last year.
Eagles - have recruited well it would seem and would expect them to improve on last year.
Glenelg - the most consistent regular season performer along with Central for the last few years, expect them to be up there again.
Sturt - wouldn't expect great improvement by them, will be interesting how they structure without Chambers.
West - this is the year for them and should be expecting/demanding a finals spot.
North - an unknown? Underachieved under Healy and could land anywhere on the table. Still have some gun players, but is the depth there?
Port - if they can turn those close losses into wins they could climb - but I don't expect them to push finals just yet.
South - you'd be mad not to back them for the spoon. Mind you, I had Norwood down for the spoon last year so what would I know?

Sounds like a poster on here . ;)

Interesting to see some of the early market favourites...

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 6003656673

Thornton Sportsbet:
$3 Norwood
$3.20 Central
$4 Eagles
$5 Glenelg
$10 Sturt
$15 North Adelaide
$21 Port Adelaide
$26 West Adelaide
$101 South Adelaide

UniTAB:
$3 Central
$3.50 Norwood
$5 Eagles, Glenelg
$11 Sturt
$15 West Adelaide, North Adelaide
$26 Port Adelaide
$67 South Adelaide

These Bookies seriously have got inadeqauate market assessors
CD are offered at amazing odds just about every year
They have won 8 of the last 10 flags
If a dog /trotter/racehorse won 8 of thier last 10 starts they would be about $1-50

Ahh well just going to have to back CD again at those stupid odds, as I have been doing for the last 7 seasons

Heres the real odds compliments of Malsportsbetting

$1-80 CD
$4-50 WWT
$7 NW
$9 GL
$16 NA
$51 WA
$51 ST
$61 PA
$1001 SA

If they're the real odds, would you like to explain why North are a third of West's odds?

They finished below West last year and I don't see anything in the recruiting to shorten them that much in comparison.

Because we know what WA will do
That is being a competitive team that will get them midfield
NA are an enigma, they can improve out of sight, the improvement in NA could be pronounced this season

Most SANFL fans ( bar Norths ) would agrre that they have seriously underachieved in recent seasons. I agree mal, North could be the big improvers.

Yep i think North will finish top 5.

First year coaches have a pretty good record in the SANFL, Laird, Bassett, Godden, Rehn, MacGowan, Phillips, Clarkson and even other such as Mickan, Jarman and Collins were deemed to have succesful years first up despite their sides records not being great.

North definatly have the players to threaten the top side in the comp and i think they will thrive off a new coach with a new 'attacking' game plan.

For me West will finish 6th beat all the teams below them and lose to the teams above them with a defensive game plan which stops them from being able to beat the better side, they may snag a win or two over the side that comes 5th and 4th similar to the 2010 imho.

It's interesting how differently we see it. For mine, North have lost a fair bit of genuine quality and haven't really replaced it with much of similar quality. Their coach is an unknown quantity. I can't see them improving on 2010.

North fans wouldn't agree?
If anything they'd be more under that impression than fans who don't see them most weeks!

Jarman was an unknown quantitiy when he took over post 2003 and took a lesser list IMO to 4th from bottom.

What quality have North lost vs. what we have recruited?
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.
