Central will win again. I can't actually believe people think other teams have a chance.

Soooo predictable.

gee thats not bad i dont remember playing finals this year
did i miss something o'well always next year

whoops sorry, i should check first & not go on an old memory

ok, my in order prediction at christmas eve....may change come march ;)

wwt
central
north
norwood
glenelg
sturt
port
west
south

What are your thoughts on Westies finishing 2nd last? Port and Norht passing us???

well as i said i reserve the right to change my thoughts come march when all recruiting etc has finished, i think port will win a few of those 1,2,3 goal losses they had in 2010, i think north with a more attacking game plan will win a few more, i think west (at this stage) with westies game style will be limping earlier in the season than they did in 2010 & will be tiring & therefore dropping off the pace especially if they play a few of these 'foxtel cup games' as the game style is taxing on the body.......just my thoughts though PG
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Well I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot saying who will and who wont be in the five .What I will say after listening to "GODS" at the meet the new recruits night.Eagles have recruited players that "should" improve the team .
Saying that all I am prepared to say is the Eagles will be the big improver's.

You're get better value for the dogs about May or June - after we have played a shocker or two and the April premiers (not us) are celebrating their renaissance and certain flag

yep you will get much better odds for the Dogs throughout the year.

Bulldogs2004 is the master of picking them up at their highest odds and then collecting on GF Day to have a free after party.

To answer the original question - No I don't think the Dogs will do it again in 2011
All eras come to an end and the loss of Buckets and Schell are massive. Callinan's finals availability would now be in question given he is on an AFL list and the Gowans are ageing and slowing down. All of these players have been significant and sustained finals performers.
I am not sure if they have recruits to announce or what juniors are coming through but they appear to be behind some other clubs with junior development (based on U18 results).
Proposed changes to pokie legistation will likely impact financially given the CDFC opposition to these changes and their core footy income may be a concern given their modest crowds (5th minor round aggregate) given a sustained period of domination.
My early 2011 tip - Dogs to slip to 3rd and the Eagles or Glenelg to celebrate on GF night

under 18's results have no impact on the clubs junior developement. All clubs need is 1-2 blokes a season from there to end up playing league football.

the 18's results are also blurred as its hard to judge which team have certain players available due to other commitments. Central last year on average had around 3-5 under 18's in the reserves side each week, if they were to have been playing 18's im sure they would have been stronger imagine Schiller if he played 18's all year, but im also sure other clubs had under 18 blokes in the reserves as well.

One player can also dominate a u/18 game but he may not even play league football for that club once the AFL come knocking.

Central biggest issue will be replacing retiring players with blokes of the same character and playing ability.

Im a Rooster member/suporter for over 40 years and cant share a few peoples optimism on North climbing more than 1 or 2 spots. Apart from Backwell we have recruited virtually no one apart from a few recycled hacks

Dogs will play off and unless they have a bad day in October will collect the spoils again.

Your best recruit might possibly be in the coaches box .. Having seen the difference when a previously underperforming list get's the right direction, I knda think the Roosters are in a similar boat - Not saying it will happen, but I certainly think it's a possibility.

No one knew of Jimmy Allan or Clint Alleway either when we recruited them a few years ago.
You don`t always have to recruit big names to get value these days, we have gone down this path a few times and the big names have been total duds.
Keep an eye on Fenton. ;)
