This.

Could they be any more hypocritical?

I assume that NAFC will have an enforced spending cap now?

Not quite sure their proposal is much like our merger and I was being rather sarcastic in my post, but yes, I dont like them either... ;)

* Edit - Just read DW's post *

So, they are trying to have some sort of business relationship. All we need now is Royal City to come in and clear it all up for us.

He said something along the lines of "We have a winter sport and a summer sport and we will look at any sharing we can do". That's not verbatim but that was the 'vibe'.

Do the North members have a say in what is going on then. I don't like the idea of having a part time CEO. Either Elliott is the NAFC CEO or the Adelaide United CEO. No way can he be both.

I read it was with Adelaide United not Adelaide Crows.

Whats the odds on a special report from Rucci in Tuscany about his thoughts!?

However, the A-League season starts in August and considering you get 3 men and a dog to A-League games these days they could easily do a triple header at Prospect Oval in the last couple of rounds of the season (1-2 home games perhaps). Adelaide United could then have a distinct advantage of having a mudbowl in the middle of the pitch :D

Email released by the NAFC

In this changing world of football (AFL and Soccer), today the announcement was made that a new consortium assumed control of Adelaide United effective immediately.

Robert Gerard, Greg Griffin and Dr Richard Noble are well known to the North Adelaide Football Club Community. Bruno Marveggio, Managing Director of Wunda Projects Australia, is the other consortium member. North Adelaide Football Club is involved in providing Management Services through its CEO Glenn Elliott.

The initial strategy for Adelaide United involves that of on field success. The cross fertilisation of codes will provide savings in overall operational costs. The commitment of the consortium is to create a broad based community club adopted by the State in a national competition.

Just wondering in which way that works

Listening to Greg Griffin talk on 5AA about working through the proposal for over 3 months , the sudden Greg Edwards departure becomes all too clear.

And I now understand North Adelaide's opposition to ONE PAFC. The Magpies shouldn't be merging with the Power, they should be merging with Adelaide City.

Talk of north and united offering joint memberships and sharing facilities at prospect and greenacres. I wont be renewing my united membership until i get a letter from the club that no monies will be exchanged between north and utd.

My take on this is that this move is Gerard's first step.

Combining North and Adelaide United to leverage sponsorship, membership and brand growth, and derive efficiencies with corporate services being provided to both clubs by a single administration.

Judging by his comments on 7 News, it seems he has a bigger plan though - to align the Crows with his consortium or at least position himself to do so, should the "One Power" proposal succeed, remembering the existing alliance the Power has with the T-Birds.

That leaves the 36ers and the Redbacks as the two big state brands left to forge alignments with other codes. And then there will also be the T20 Redback franchise.....

Well it does explain why they've conceded that the Port merger is going ahead.

One of the opposing stances (not just from North) is that the rest of the clubs don't have the opportunity to share admin costs with anyone else.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

WTF ! Sharing admin costs ? What using the same computer ?
Magpies and Power are both football clubs and will use the same training facilities and gym ect ect. same common interest supporter base.
What the hell has soccer got to do with Roosters football ? Do they pull the goal posts down on Wednesdays ?
Apart from our ethnic brothers what football supporter has any interest in soccer. Like watching paint dry !
Dual membership of the best game on earth with the most boring meaninless game of all time ?
WTF does Glenn Elliott know about soccer ??????????????

Smacks of a hidden agenda to me.

Perhaps a move for double headers in the near future, soccer game then a SANFL game.

Will watch this one with interest

Glenn can't do both jobs so I suspect that a new CEO will be in at North soon - maybe Greg Edwards.

Also NAFC Board Member and club Dr, Richard Noble is part of the ownership consortium!

well i'm sure if doc noble can be a club board member, a club doctor, president at globe derby & also club doctor at globe derby, glenn can have '2 jobs'.........will the chant of 'reds' change to a roosters chant ?
