With Hentschel being well known and respected in AFL circles, you'd think that would be a big tick as far as at least getting players the Eagles are looking to recruit to look in to playing there. With Godden being full time as well, you'd think he'd have a big say in the recruiting and some time to put into that. I'm sure the Eagles have thought through all this before giving Hentschel the job...

Would have thought that is the stuff the CEO is talking about when he says that they have removed the potential conflicts from the position....

So he's NOT a Footy Manager then....

It is interesting in that at most footy clubs the Senior Coach reports to the Footy Manager - so Godsy is now possibly reporting to one of his players, novel concept.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Mate, you are deluded to think that any coach in the SANFL or AFL reports to the Football Manager. Mickan reports to Applegarth? Collins reports to Turner? Fuller reports to Sharpe? I think not.

I think its the Eagles thinking outside the box.And its keeping a person with AFL experience at the club.
Those people who don't like it from other clubs MEH. You seem the same people that don't like anything the eagles do .

Hey CCL , theres a few of us just wondering how it is that you have dropped the Eagles as your team along with Adelaide Crows ? I think its just so sweet though that you call yourself after Fuller who must have been your own very special " centre circle legend " all those years ago when he played . It must be of great comfort to Ron to have you close behind him on those cold windy training nights at Noarlunga ;)

Think you'll find that process started a few years back when they recruited Jay Cheep as a 'footballer'.

Some interesting recruiting news about to emerge from Oval Avenue that'll put a few people's noses out of joint. All to be revealed shortly.

He's a development officer, not a footy manager! Massive difference, I think the Eagles are selling themselves short.

Centrals don't even have a Football Manager! So, not sure what you're talking about here.

But they do have a licenced facility manager meaning Granty focusses on footy ahead of all else. What I'm talking about is that the Eagles have appointed someone to do half a job (no contracts!) from a position of weakened power (he's still a player!) - hardly a great idea I would have thought, but best of luck.

Well I did say shortly... :D

Kite's in for an interesting time the first time the Eagles play Norwood. I think it's fair to say he hasn't won too many friends the way he's conducted himself through this whole time but we'll take the Eagles money and let them deal with him I guess.
