Good effort by Port today even though we were luckly in the end as we just ran out of legs.

Good marketing by the club only expecting 50 people back at the POW and did not put enough staff on

great start by port which in the end won them the game, but with that very strong breeze in the last term why did sturt continue to kick short until the last 8-10 minutes when they almost stole it, well done darren mead & the port boys
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Gee I'm glad we have such positive supporters such as yourself. If we scored 10 more points and snagged the reserves premiership I hope you would still be saying 'all need to have a good hard look at themselves'. With three out of three teams making the finals, one in the grand final you are hard to please. It wasn't a perfect season but there are positives.

Sam Gray just keeps on impressing me. His efforts for Port Adelaide Maggies have been very good and he made the best players list for SA in the U18 comp in the majority of games. Did not get as much recognition in the press as the "big name" players but just kept on performing. Well done Sam

I'm a Glenelg Supporter but find this comment baffling.
Sam Day is one of 2 SA U18s who are getting heaps of attention re this years Draft. The other is WWT Jared Polek

Top 25 draft prospects
No. 3 Sam Day (Sturt): Is a key forward who takes hangers and kicks 60 metres without effort. His potential is enormous considering he's never dedicated himself to footy.

Are Sam Gray and Sam Day the same person?

Yes he did. What planet have you been on? Sam got good coverage and recognition, and quite derservedly too and was clearly acknowleged as a key player in the U18 state campaign.

Sam Day (Sturt) & Sam Gray (Port). I can't comment on Gray, but Day was used by State team as a key forward but in finals, Sturt Reserves used him as a CHB and as a second Ruck. He is still learning the game, but is ultra athletic. Will attract AFL attention, especially when a guy of his size runs down a wingman in a GF.

I think it comes down to club recruiters look at a tall, athletic and mobile player knowing they'll take time to develop fully, when they come across one that has some good skills also they attract alot of interest, Sam Day is all of this, in the draft camps he showed agility, stamina and a leap that equalled or beat Naitanui and as mentioned in a previous thread, Matt Rendell rates him very highly adding that the kid doesn't know just how good he is and his only fault is that he hasn't pulled a game apart yet. In my opinion, I thought he was a little disappointing in the GF. Basically it's a chance for a club to get hold of a Kreuzer, Naitanui, Pavlich, Goodes type of player who can ruck, play FF, CHF and keep up with the pace of the game, whether he is good enough to make it is up to him.

Sam Day has received alot of attention all season and will go to the Gold Coast very early in the draft.
Sam Gray got some good exposure during the U18 chjampionships, but wasnt invited to Canberra for the draft camp, and was not even invited to the State screening.

I know the Power and Melbourne rate him pretty highly though so hopefully the Power draft him.

Sam Tonkes won the Bob Lee medal in his 4th reserves game for the club. He is still U17 so that was a great effort. He will attract alot of attention next year.
