i think it is a real 50/50 match but with wwt's having slow starts in both finals i wonder whether norwood can set up a match winning lead early !!!.....whoever wins will be a worthy challenger in the grand final against central
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Just spoke to Nick stlll in Qld. Back tomorrow. Been running and feeling really good. Has been told by Eagles that he is definitely playing (subject to a very basic running test by the Power which he is confident he will fly through).

With or without Broadbent & Salter I would suggest the Eags will have an advantage in ruck as was the case with the Dogs v the Legs last Sunday. Also a more potent forward line with Grocke & Welsh.
Add Broadbent & Salter to the mix and I think they are an excellent chance. Will be another fascinating clash.

Interestnigly on the Redleg forum there is lots of chat about when they meet Centrals again in two weeks.

Very much reminds of the Bays after there Round 23 loss to the Dogs.

Yeah there is a bit, Im not a fan of it either personally .. It will be hard enough to try and get a win this weekend even playing at %100, if there is the slightest bit of distraction to focus on this Sundays game we're in trouble.

A few people have mentioned it in the game review thread which is to be expected but most of the talk is about this week.

Warning to all Norwood supporters is to think no further than this week. If you underestimate the Eagles you do so at your own peril. The Eagles are without a shadow of a doubt the form side of this years finals sides with 2 big scalps in Sturt and Glenelg by an average winning margin of 54 points. The inclusions of Broadbent and Salter will further enhance the Eagles chances of winning this game. I think at this stage it's a 50-50 chance and either team could give the Dogs a run for their money the week after but at this stage it's 1 week at a time.

I don't think anyone is underestimating the Eagles mate, how could anyone with the form they've shown? I think some people are getting a bit excited by the potential prospect of a GF appearance, but really any talk of that this week is just nonsense and the focus needs to be all about trying to find a way past the Eagles.

Trust me mate, every Norwood supporter I have spoken too is very worried about this game and know how dangerous the Eagles are. Like you say it's hard ot pick a winner.

The Norwood Club i can say is now fully focussed on this week's tough encounter.
The Eagles have been very impressive over the last weeks and have some great young talent.
Funny as it may seem Norwood are vulnerable in the ruck department but this week will have their two young talls with back up Rowe against Parry { 194 cm } and ???. This could be a vital ingredient.

Another interesting selection problem will be if the Eagles select Broadbent and Salter and Norwood include Bown. None of these players could be match fit and the history of team's playing not fully fit players is not good reading.

May the best team win and stop the Dog's unhealthy dominance for our great local competition.

Love the new avatar Eagle has landed!!
Whatever 18 Eagles players go out there sunday they will make it tough for Norwood . Thats something "GODS" has installed in the side mental and physical toughness .Plus he has them finishing games off at the right time of the year.Yes 17 men last week and they kept attacking!!

Still we will be underdogs in the media etc .Just the way we like it ;)

My gut feeling is that the Eagles may be better off without Salter and Broadbent. For a cut throat game it will be a big risk bringing those back after not playing for four weeks. Also the Eagles AFL players have a history of not performing come finals time (I know they havent all let us down i.e. Stevens in 2000 and Skipworth in 2006).

Strangely Norwood will go into the game hot favourites, but I feel the Eagles would give Central a tougher game in the GF. They have showed that they have the mental toughness on the big stage (Norwoods time will come after a few more finals series)

Well, Jai Bednall seems to think it's Norwood for victory this week - in his power rankings, Glenelg are still 3rd, even!

Noramlly would agree with you, but given our injury situation, I don't think we have any option but to take the risk.

Don't know about the ruck advantage, Hazy. Sure, Parry is probably better and stronger atm, but we have lost our two 2nd-rucks in Miles and Redden. It was a huge advantage to the Eagles when Giles went down early in the EF and Bowen had to do all the ruck work.
