and it was different in the 60's how?

I'm sure you're proud of that part of Sturts history, it's up to the other clubs to do something about it

I think ppl continue to miss the point. No one complains while their own team dominates, it'd be weird to, but that doesn't mean other fans don't tire of it. I'm sure heaps of ppl were tired of Sturt in the 60s, ppl didn't hate Port for any other reason than they just won all the time.

I'm just saying the same feeling is there now.

Never said Central don't earn it, they have, in fact I clearly said it was the other 8 clubs who were failing.

Centrals were the laughing stock of the league for 40 years, let us enjoy it :)

Were you all whinging when sturt dominated the 60's and port dominated the 70's(??) and the 90's? Of course you did. Has the league changed at all? No.

SANFL is the best brand of footy in the country and thats why we all watch it. The dogs will eventually run their race. (hopefully another 5 or so years) :D

On the subject of jokes in the SANFL, disgraces, boringness and predictablness, why dont we just discuss the Glenelg Footy Club??? Surely their 100 year choking situation is more disgraceful and predictable than the doggies having a good decade :)

Again missing the point. No one is saying don't enjoy it, I'm saying it's hurting interest in the league because the other 8 clubs are not competitive. Those 8 clubs need to lift their game.

As are you apparently. I asked you earlier to either start a seperate thread if you wanted to discuss the League as a whole. This thread is for a specific game.

... and before Central fans come down with the "oh it's just cos your club is crap" type of stuff, I don't blame Central, it's the other 8 clubs, just woefully hopeless at competing in general and as a result, the league is a bloody joke.

I love my club, but admittedly, as each year goes by, I become less and less interested in football in general. The AFL is overly corporate and the SANFL has become a one-horse race season after bloody season.

Let's be honest, who really, apart from Dogs fans, has any real interest in the grannie this year?

How refreshing it was in the WAFL this year when a team that hasn't won in 14 years played a team that hasn't won in 20 years ... and the underdog got up. It would be like a cool breeze at the end of a stinking hot day, and welcome relief. Pity it never happens here.

One can only assume from the majority of posters in here that they do not agree variety is the spice of life :)

Centrals
play well
recruit well
retain well
are well supported
If they dominate for the next 1,546 years sobiet
The club has earnt success after being an unrespected and underachieving club in the 20th century

Quite simply the best club deserves to win flags
As some of the CD barrackers on SAFOOTY post, its up to the other clubs to raise the bar and bridge the gap

Eventually like the Roman Empire, Gheghis Khans army, Hitlers regime, all things come to an end
How did they all falter ?
predominately the other nations lifted thier game and beat them

Errrm mate, who gets better crowds?

One game at Hindmarsh almost equals the entire SANFL round of attendees.

We have a party when 6,000 go to a game, whereas that crowd is rubbish at Hindmarsh
.

Ask the SANFL whether they're on a winner with a one horse race.

No point in having a go at me, I've been following SANFL for 30 years, but just because I love my club, I'm not going to put my head in the sand and say the league is doing itself justice. The 8 crap clubs are letting the league down.

I think your posting not only in the wrong thread but also the wrong site.

A league is a national comp deleted-no name calling please. SANFL is local. Of course soccer is gonna get supporters. FFS. Enjoy your summer.goodbye.
exactly, you cant compare a state game to a local competition game.

very true, but it is something the club is aware of and have asked for surveys to be completed as to what can be improved to get more people to the games next season.

also this week with Central in, there was a larger crowd by 2000 people, obviously thats not just because Central were there but i thought we had the best turnout of the four sides on the Day.
Plus this week was in competition with the City to Bay.

Central's streak is a once in a lifetime moment they should be congratulated for breaking Port's monopoly.

remember prior to 2000 it was a Port Adelaide dominated league so noting has really changed
