Bitterly disappointing full marks to the Eagles as they wanted it more than which is the most gut wrenching part.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah, respect to the Eagles. They've played two outstanding finals so far. A couple of major injuries might test them next week though

now now boys ... how old are we . At the end the day doesnt matter if you finish 3rd or rock bottom like my mob. But unfortunately bays supporters are gonna have to cop the flak . Its one thing if ya just not good enough but i guess thats why people get stuck into them cause they are a good football side . Clearly the problems are all above the shoulders

Firstly, I must remind fellow Eagles fans not to go too harshly at Glenelg on here. Remember how we copped it 4-6 years ago? I know how you Tigers fans must feel at the moment.

Coming home and watching the last few minutes of the match on replay, Soders asked Hentschel if there was an empty feeling regarding the injuries. "No, not really" he replied, and you could see he was rather positive about winning, with those injuries being an opportunity for other players to step up. I think that's what it's all about for us at the moment. Not whether or not we are rated in the football world, it's all about what happens at the 'Park.

Unbelievable. There's a difference between enjoying a bit of schadenfreude, and simply being a dickhead.

Absolutely outstanding! Makes you very proud to be an Eagles supporter the way they again applied themselves today.

It was a bad start with Glenelg pushing out to a 27 point lead 20 minutes into the opening term kicking with a 3-4 goal breeze to the northern end. Glenelg were working harder, but the Eagles managed to get a couple back thanks to the hard work of Allmond on the wing and the class of Hentschel up forward. A lead of 16 points at the first change was not a bad result for the Eagles given just ten minutes earlier it was looking like Glenelg may even put the game out of reach so early.

The 2nd quarter saw the Eagles dominate the Bays for the majority of the quarter. All of a sudden Glenelg looked shaky and went back to bad habits. The Eagles applied the pressure and going into half time with a small lead, looked the better team.

The 3rd quarter was significant. Glenelg needed a handy lead at the 3 quarter time break, but the Eagles were again superior at the contest and the Glenelg spirit looked broken, even though there was plenty of time left in the game and the scores were close. To me it just didn't look like Glenelg had what it took to take on the Eagles into the breeze.

The 4th quarter was very similar to last week. Despite already losing Treeby and then Lewis to have just a one man bench, the Eagles continued on there way to record a comfortable 6 goal victory to bundle Glenelg out in straight sets. It was disappointing to also lose Hentschel and then Redden to finish the game with 17 on the field.

Again, as it needs to be, it was a team effort by the Eagles today. I thought Allmond and Cicolella were outstanding. Parry was excellent as was Giuffreda, who has come back from a knee reconstruction and is probably our most improved player this year. Hentschel was fantastic in the first half when we needed a forward to step up. The usual suspects in Powell and Lewis were also very good.

Glenelg have had the upper hand on the Eagles in recent times so it was a terrific effort to step up when it really counted to overcome them. Look forward to next week against Norwood!

Thoroughly deserved win today.

Didn't panic, took the cheep shots well and didn't react.

Bay's fans thoughts on Carr's game? ( other than him being an insipid sniper). He left you playing with on 20 men today.
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

Wasn't it a Glenelg supporter who on here last year said a 12 year old Sturt lad operating a scoreboard should harden the eff up?

Apologies if I'm wrong.

Well said Spelly well done my Eagles !!!
Thought we were dead in the water 4.5 to 1 point .But somehow we fought back !!!
I think the Eagles board / recruiting staff need a big pat on the back.
Bringing "God's" from the Bay(that must hurt )and to the Fortress.Along with all those recycled players mentioned in the paper.
We may have injuries but everyone will give their all next week !!!
Young players or old players it didn't matter today all put in and all played well!!!
