Well you're all class aren't you!
I never said that it affected sturt or eagles, it was just bad umpiring full stop, sturt were crap but the amount of frees and 25m given out today and in a final was just ridiculous

Yeah. 4 of them got kicked out for swearing  . Wonder what happens to people who bring flares into the ground. Hang on a second, swearing is much worse.

Yeah what happens IFFFFF people r caught bringing flares into the ground

Sweet FA happens and you know it. You get away with it every year. No swearing allowed when you're frustrated though. Remember that Doggies fans.

Eagles were absolutely SUPERB from the opening minute.

There was ONE team out there today who came to play footy.
There were TWO teams with question marks about their credentials.
There was ONE coach who had to answer the critics (me included).

Eagles ANSWERED their questions in the best way possible.
Sturt answered theirs too.

An Elimination Final is just that, mothballs for the loser, another knock out final for the winner.
On today's showing, the eagles are an even-money bet next week.
Having said @ the beginning of the year (read the posts) - we will finish between 3rd & 6th, no reason to change that view.

But there is ONE thing to add (& I feel it is highly appropriate)...

He who laughs last, well you know the rest...
It appears that the 'minibus' rolls on & the 'Big Blue Bus' has 'blown a tyre' & careered off the road & into a wall...

TOODLEPIP ;)

Considering we play a minor round game out there I'd say we connect very well

I thought that Sturt dominated the game until Giles went off injured, which was well after the opening minute.

No excuses though, congrats to the Eags, we were rubbish and looked very flat, particularly after the frustration of missing numerous gettable shots on goal to stay in touch.

Amazing what three big ins and a flat track does in a week. As for our ins...I thought Jaensch was excellent but Toby had a day that he'd like to forget.

Anyway, our season went pear-shaped many weeks ago. Time to polish up on some simple skills and find a bit of extra pace. Dogs for the premiership again  Bring on 2011.

I guess I'll justify that comment before the abuse starts flying. All I'm saying is that your mum has as much to do with the Sturt cheer squad as I do these days mate.

Thought it was a strange start to win the toss and kick against the breeze. Mind you, it didn't have a huge impact as it often does at Footy Park.

As expected, the game was tough and tight in close for the majority of the 1st quarter. You could tell the Eagles were switched on, but were they good enough to produce such a turnaround after last week? The Eagles kicked two late ones just before quarter time to have a lead of 4 points at the first change. Grocke's value to the team was highlighted with two snaps to produce two goals.

The 2nd quarter was outstanding. The first 15 minutes were as good as we've played all year. Powell was at everything in his 150th game. Rowntree played like a seasoned veteran and Jarrad's rebound from half back was full of class. Parry enjoyed the absence of Giles to dominate in the ruck (was Miles injured for the Eags as well?).

The 3rd quarter guaranteed a ticket to next week as the Eagles extended the margin from 33 points to 39 points at 3/4 time and the last quarter was a cakewalk as Sturt surrendered and started thinking about Mad Monday.

Your good players always play well, but it was the likes of Treeby, Symmons and Rimington who had to step up to produce a turnaround from last week and this they did. It was a complete team effort.

I couldn't split Grocke and Powell as the best player. Both were great for 4 quarters.
