We will lose next week, as predicted, go second & then beat Glenelg in the final game.

Personally, I think you'll win it comfortably this season.

8 from 10. 2007, 2008, 2009 = three in a row. 2003,2004,2005 = 3 in a row. All the important numbers

We looked too slow and not interested for much of the game, and yes the Eagles should have won by more (at least another 5 or so goals). They totaly out played us for 80% of the game. Maybe thats a positive IMO any side that controls that much of the footy SHOULD win by plenty????? No sour grapes Eagles definitely deserved to win but I would like other peoples perspective on the umpiring. My thoughts, confusing, IMO the 3 umpires yesterday didnt gel well, too many decisions paid one way by a certain ump and not the other way by the other. Certainly didnt favour one or the other teams.

We looked exhausted after about the 20 minute mark of the third quarter. Goody couldn't even stand up in the last few seconds. Oh well, no-one wins every game, just as well, the whingeing from opposition supporters would be unbearable. As i stated at the start of the year, We will lose this week at Dungley, then beat Glenelg the following week, get the rest through to Our traditional 2nd Semi Final & hopefully win The Grand Final. Quite simple, really! :D ;)

The first 5 minutes we looked good- got the first 2 goals then we went to sleep. We were lucky that they kicked 4 points before they got a goal or we could have been really thrashed. The Eagles wanted a win more than us. We delivered into the forward lines poorly often picking out the loose Eagles player. We turned the ball over coming out of defence and our tackles didn't stick.
We used to be good :-(

Interesting a DOGS fan should mention the umpiring .1 umpire seemed to be in love with the only Gowans boy playing yesterday. And before anyone has a rant at me .Check the first quarter he was taken in a tackle 1 arm held(that was important as the day went along for the umps) .He could not get rid of the ball ball up was the result.
Every-time an Eagles player was tackled in the same way(ie 1 arm held) it was ball.It didn't matter how long the Eagles player had the ball, it was holding the ball.
Now standing back and watching the buckets knock on Lewis .Clearly buckets was buggered and frustrated .Why did that umpire not report him. When clearly that impact was worse than the last time Grocke was reported .And it was that UMPIRE!!Surely a head high knock must be reported perhaps the SANFL will take action against that UMPIRE!!

But in general that in the packs holding the ball or get the ball out or play on was very confusing.Personally in the last term the Eagles players laid a trap .1 dogs player musilino(spelling sorry) laid on the ball determined not to let the ball out .Sadly for the dogs it was the only time that free was paid .
Unlike other Eagles fans many of the decision's the umpires paid against us were in fact there .Not all of them but many were.

What I did also notice was during different parts of the day. When the dogs were trailing .The old biffo came out and naturally the Umpires somehow (like wrestling ref ) missed it.Now nothing really untoward just the odd slap thump etc to the back .

Couple of things out of yesterday's game. Both teams were undermanned.
1 Eagles promoted youth in Redden and McMahon .
2 Redden must be played the next few weeks gives the side a better ruck/forward option.
points to remember
1 McMahon's kick in the third for the Grocke goal. While all others lost their heads he alone held his or words to that affect ;)
2 Jarrad's goal from the 50 in the last term that alone has or could awake the sleeping eagle !!

Cheers

Thought the umpiring was pretty good in the first half when both sides were going at it tough and generally umpired accordingly. In the second half there seemed a few more dodgy decisions, favouring the team that was prepared to work harder, ie Dogs in the third, Eagles in the last.
That free against Musolino was cringeworthy from an Eagles supporter POV.
Report McKenzie? I thought he was stiff to have the free against him.
But agree MickyJ about the one-handed holding-the-balls, thought they were inconsistently interpreted against us.

That was a great bit of composure by McMahon, he looked to kick it three of four times, but finally picked the right time and option.

 You can't be serious! Were you even at the game.
You had an armchair ride from the white maggots for most of the day, until the last quarter when Tony Dey cleverly decided to start paying us frees because the game was over and he needed the stats to look even in the newspaper.

It is now official Tony Dey has taken the number 1 spot from Richard Williams as the worst "umpire" in the SANFL.

And how many times did the other idiots point in the wrong direction when awarding a free?

Wrong. Centrals had more frees than Eagles at 3/4 time, but ended up with less. They probably got half their frees in the third quarter.
