Against the eagles it was always going to be hard with Bock, Knights, Burton and I think another I cant remember. Stayed with them for 3 quarters. We should get a few players back off our long injury list. I think the club should be going through the whole of South and find players there. I cant beleive there are very few or little players with quality in the whole of the south. I make it a thorough process. I would get each club to send 4 of there best players to a training camp. get ronny to put them through their paces and cull till you get 30 players with the most potential up to the age of 28. Without knowing who is playing in local leagues of area I would be sure they would find some good players with potential to play at least reserves for South. I dont know the process at the moment but it sure isnt working. Bottom in all three grades. It is a disgrace that they have let this get this bad. They need to change their process of selecting players. I would only recruit 2 at most players from other regions probably CHB and CHF. Our midfield is pretty good just let down in defence and going forward. One day they will get their s_ _ _ together.

When you pick up the sunday mail and have a look at the best players for teams in the SFL and GSFL, a lot of the names are recognisable to South fans (Portlock, Burdett etc). A lot of these better players have already tried their luck at SAFC, and for numerous reasons have moved on.

I'm not saying there are not others out there though.
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Very surprised to hear that we only have 7 out of 15 teams in our area and auskick stats are half centrals. No wonder we havent got a lot of young ones coming through. What about Great southern league. In any league in any sport all over australia good talent relies on having enough volumes to make a decent comp which has decent players evolve within it. I would like to see what the volumes are to chose from. This may be a reason why our club is so unsuccessful. What happened to Darwin. We had a few a few years ago but nothing since. I would like to see South recruit 3 or 4 aboriginals to give us some flare not unlike Alwyn Davey. It beats me why South dont further pursue this.

Have heard whispers this may be the last game for a few "big name" South players??

Any truth in that??? :?

I think South are in for a chance with this game. Im sure the ones that want to be there next year with have to show they have got what it takes and what Ron demands from them. ;)
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

The 2 main players that were mentioned previously and again on AA tonight were Michael Handby and Benny Warren...

Looks like it'll be a pleasant day at Noarlunga on Saturday- 15 and Showers. Good thing you can park the car around the oval and crank the heater.

agreed, given the forecast i think it maybe a lot closer that i first thought & the $1.12 for norwood on sportsbet is ridiculously short, perhaps south at the points is worth a little wager
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Nothing surprises me down there. Its a wonder they dont lose more players due to losing all the time. I think Handles probably has had his time. Doesnt assert himself enough and make enough impact in games while Dugga would be a big loss although there would be arguments that he has not performed well for last couple of months and maybe he has had his time as well. Surely you wouldnt let him go until you get someone better though. Time will tell.
