I must have been watching a different game to some people on this site.

I thought that Glenelg were very comeptitive - the dogs may well have dropped off in the 2nd quarter but you only play as well as your oppposition let you and I thought that the way the bays moved the ball through the centre they showed that unless we were on our game then they coule be very dangerous.

The final score flattered the dogs - until about half way through the last quarter it was still anyones game.

Every other team should try and emulate Centrals .And I have told my club we need to be more like Centrals on and off the field.
Sounds like you guys had a very good game today.

I thought Boyd had a great game today. He has added that pace and grunt to the midfield and stoppages that we so miss Sladey for. Not in the same class mind you, but coming along nicely.
Enjoyed the game today, but a pity there was not a bigger crowd.
Cornsey has to be one of the biggest tossers I have come across. Perhaps if he found out they were serving canapes under the grandstand he might have graced us with his presence.

Central's dancing girls took to the field with a spring in their step. Resplendent with their white stars prominently displayed on their chests, we knew we were in for a real treat. And what a show! The girls did not disappoint with their Michael Jackson medley routine; the great man himself could not have put on a better show - not in the least because he bought the farm almost exactly a year ago. Particular mention must be made of the "Thriller" segment, in which the girls struck gruesome hunchback poses with their curled talon-like hands reaching skywards; looking for all purposes like they had crawled from a grave on a moonlit night to give their performance. Super impressive or what? I had to cram the last of my gummi bears into my mouth (thanks Centurion) in order to free both my hands to properly laud their performance; verily I was touched deep in my core.

Frankly anything that happened on the field after this number was an anticlimax; the day steadily went downhill from this point.

Thank christ the Dogs won, I don't reckon I could have dealt with another three weeks of whingeing.

Funny, didn't think there was any Centrals fans whinging about anything this year. Just Norwood fans upset we didn't bow down and worship them for a narrow minor round win. Sounds to me like you might feel as if Norwood's already had their climax to their season.

And AM bays, you are correct, it's not just the fault of those guys specifically. They can almost certainly lift but 80% or more of a forward's effective disposals should come from good midfield work and they don't get that sort of service from their midfield against Centrals. Only time they did was that game a couple of years ago when Ty Allen butchered us single handed in the first quarter at Elizabeth.

Mickyj do you seriously think that any club needs to be TOLD to be more like Centrals on and off the field - I suggest a 10 year old could work that out

Agreed. The game was obviously up for grabs in the last quarter. Most centrals supporters are talking about how they played soo bad in the second quarter thats the only reason why we where still in it, the same could be said for our last half if thats the case. Skill errors and decision making around our forward 50 is not good enough and one person in particular is just not up to standard, we basically where playing one short. In patches we just didnt work hard enough and got punished as we should be. Plenty of players to come in for both sides come finals time or at least there are for the us as far as i'm concerned, happy with the fact that we showed enough to expect us to give centrals a real good contest come finals time, only time will tell if we can learn from playing them today and in the last week before the finals, we can and we will.

It wasn't that I was disputing the fact Glenelg were in the game at 3/4 time, just I was disputing Glenelg were let down only by a bad quarter. Make no mistake the dogs will enjoy the win and the gap it creates, but that second quarter needs to be addressed. I fear for Glenelg's sake that Mickan will neglect to address the issues that arose in the first and third quarters.
