Chubby's effort on the members wing was the turning point in the last quarter. As soon as he had Jarrad caught holding the ball, the Bloods were never going to lose this one.

Really was an "all played well" affair.

Umpiring was interesting to say the least! Cicolella must have the weakest knees in the SANFL!

Must wins coming up against Norwood, Port and South.

Scott Welsh was named in the squad but didnt play.
For the non-Eagles supporters out here, is he injured?

I think the Sunday Mail have mentioned that he had a thigh injury. Welsh definitely was a big loss in conjunction with Salter and Schulz - granted the latter two are Power listed so we can't rely on them being there each and every week, but losing three tall forwards from one game to the next would be difficult for any team to adapt to. This showed as I think we had enough of the ball but lacked cohesion, particularly when going forward, and didn't finish off as well as West did.

Regarding the umpiring - some of the last quarter decisions were laughable. Fortunately for us the majority of these went our way so probably just evened up the better run West got earlier on (nothing like the shockers in the last quarter, but the differences in interpretation between individual umpires seemed to go West's way early on).

The game was an opportunity for us to build a gap between the pack battling for 5th spot, but unfortunately now we have fallen back into this pack.

How was the ABC Radio call of the game between Port and Norwood JAS?

Back to this game, well done to Westies for the win, a fitting victory to honour the terrible passing of young Corey Siemers...

It could not have been any worse than 5rph's call. What a disgrace!! I sat in front of them and they coudln't get the Eagles players names correct!!(no idea if they knew the west players better )
One was that bad he kept saying Biglands has taken the mark in the 50.Biglands lining up for goal.
3 rows in the grandstand turned around and told him Biglands is on the bench its Miles !!!
And yes I was sitting in front of them give me a break they were saying Broadbent was an in for Welsh .Politely told them Miles and Thompson were the ins .And their radio station does the league teams !!!

I thought the standard of the match was horrible and made worse by the monster flood that West were applying thoughout the match. Unfortunately we weren't able to deal with it which was disappointing. A couple of things.....

1. Geddes would just about be leading the club's B&F this year. Full credit to the guy. I thought he was gone at the end of last year but as really turned it around this year.

2. Thought Godden made some strange positional moves. Some of these have been a problem thoughout the year. Miles is good in ruck. Not so good as a key forward. Grocke is great at CHF but not good at FF. Vince changing off HB and not HF was a waste. Jarrad needs to be on the wing rather than down back.

Try putting up with the umpiring that led to the 'biased' commentary.
