Interesting these AFL players are playing for our reserves, not south's as would normally be the case. I can only imagine South asked not to get them, the dogs were happy to play them and everyone else thought that was ok.

And I do have to agree Duncan isn't in the Schell/Havelberg quality league player stakes. Duncan may well be a fine talent and good bloke, but half a dozen reasonable games at league level puts him in the unproven category for now. It even remains to be seen whether he can get into the team this year. The performances of a lot of the guys who might have been thought of as fringe players has been fantastic. Just need to look at Luke Habel. Been in good form, not let us down but in the end couldn't hold his spot with Boyd showing his class in the ressies.

As for the game, I can't see West getting too close to the dogs. Especially if the dogs get the keep the same forward line 2 weeks in a row for just about the first time all year.

I thought if, for example Reichart and Westhoff were to miss they'd be named in the Reserves squad. Don't they have to be named in both?

Former Glenelg Reserves Premiership ruckman Jason Sutherland is having a run with Central's reserves this weekend...

Central Reserves:

From: Barmby, Donnelly, Duncan, Dunne, Economou, Edmead, Foldesdy, Frail, Fry, Hannath, Haydon, Hynes, Matson, McKinnon, Musolino, Sutherland, Vater, M.Westhoff, N.White, M.White.

I think he has been playing in the Riverland this year and from what I have found out, has made a couple of representative sides and trained with the Dogs on Wednesday night where Roy Laird put him through a real acid test.

Obviously with the injury to young Cameron Milne and not being able to rely on Griffin with the Crows, the Dogs are trying to get some rucking depth into the club.

What's he like Bays fans?

Jason Mackenzie plays his 150th League game for Central in this game against West Adelaide at Richmond...

Well done to Buckets, what a legend of the Dogs he has been over the last decade...

A nice little piece from the localfootysa site:

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 5878059685

He is a modern day Peter 'Super' Carey with his build and the way he uses his body and brain. I reckon Dogs fans would love for him to play as long as Super did !!

Wholesale changes at Westies this week, too many for my liking, all injuries barr Lobbe.

Ins: Schmidt, Anderson, Morris, A. Hartlett, Willits, S. Blessing
Outs: Ferguson, Green, Ben Fisher, Lobbe

Great to see Steve Morris named after a knee reconstruction last year. Fergy, Green and Fisher are probably are 3 hardest, couragous players. Ruck is Willits. Im not confident of a win. Hope Im proved wrong.

I dare say we will get him back, but with him being a power player, anything can happen!

Morris im suprised is named in the league squad, coming back from a knee reco and going straight into the league side? surely not!

I've been told that Centrals haven't actually approached Sutherland's club Berri to discuss the situation. Be interesting to see if it's ongoing.

Has made a big impression in the Riverland.

Doggies scouts been watching him past couple of weeks.

Was All Australian Country ruckman last season.

Follows a similar path to Buckets, who was also recruited to the club after solid performances in the Country Carnival.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

With 20 players named in Central's reserves team, one from the extended league bench is likely to drop down. However, that would also suggest that one player in our league squad is likely to be out injured. I have a sneaking suspicion therefore that Daniel Schell won't be playing on Saturday.
I hope I am wrong.
Cheers

For those unaware, an interesting debutant in West's Reserves tomorrow is former Adelaide 36'er Chris Molitor.
