Didn't see any of the game but heard the third quarter called on RPH. Sounds like Norwood absorbed everything we threw at them and were worthy winners.

Nice to see one of the minnows of the competition having a red hot go! :D

Heard the after match on RPH, someone on there called Norwood/Central the new modern day rivalry of the SANFL.

Norwood may consider it a major revilary for the Dogs there just a pissant average mid table side of the 00's decade.

FFS, stop carrying on like an old woman ... Yeah you lost a game, still the flag favourite and the most likely to be smiling come October.

Pretty sure we had rivalries well before you guys existed.

I thought We played a crappy, scrappy, mistake-riddled game. Couldn't seem to breathe & get space. Norwood Oval doesn't suit Our game at all. Can't wait 'til the 17th of July. Good to catch up with Constance & Cennals05......plus that other **** with the goatee that took offence when I questioned his statement that he wanted to put "food on his penis", or something to that effect. We lost because We gave away 5, maybe 6 goals to Norwood by way of frees in front of goal. Whether they were there or not, that is another question.

Don't recall anyone saying that we consider it a major rivalry or did you mean revelry...fairly sure the above comment was the opinion of RPH...so you're probably just wasting your energy laying into us for it.

Norwood seemed to want it just that bit more all day I thought, and were deserved winners although both teams had their chances to win it. Dogs seemed to lose their forward structure late in the game although Henderson, Gunston, Westhoff & Goodrem are all virtual strangers to each other when it comes to forming a forward unit.
Completely inept display of over umpiring, which sadly heavily favoured the home side.
The win will be great for Norwood's confidence but is hardly a mortal blow to the Dogs who's main concern at the moment is settling a side due to injuries and AFL comings and goings.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Yeah agree, Hayes was great for most of the day but gave away two freekicks in front of goal that were definatly frees to Norwood.

First goals for each club was interesting
NW goaled thru the re-instated Toby Schulz
Toby was dropped last week for what might have been a missed recovery session
Great start

CD thru some good play got the ball to Ricky Henderson on the lead
Tucked away deep in the forward pocket and a long way out
Ricky cooly threaded thru the almost impossuble goal

QTR TIME
NW 3-3
CD 5-2
Sensational game, all the skills on display, the tacking good, both sides played extra well

REST OF THE GAME
Both sides lifted thier intensity
The tacking, the intensity, the pressure was the highlight
Both sides denied fluency for the most part
The only lack of skill was the shooting for goals
When the siren sounded NW happened to be in front
Neither side deserved to lose

UMPIRING
The umps seemingly didnt miss any 50/50 decisons in NWs favour
There were hardly any bloopers
You would say NW was favoured

HIGHLIGHTS
4 magnificent marks in the last qtr under pressure
HAYES
ROWE
DAWE
STOPP
And of course the game needed a flash of brilliance
Simmo PHILLIPS as NFC described produced that run late in the game
After a few bounces he centered the ball accurately to Matt Davis
That was the play of the day, it was also the only goal and the match winning goal in the last qtr

The loss will probably do Centrals more good than harm.
For Norwood it was just another step along the road to improvement and a major test passed.
There are no easy games this year and next week we go to Dog Turd Park to take on a team I'm sure will be looking for revenge.
Great game of football and have to admit applauded two gutsy Centrals marks running back into the pack.
If we can see a game like this one every week the game of football is in a good state of repair.

The game was there to be won and Centrals blew it. The first three quarters were very tight, Norwood ask the questions and Centrals responded. However, Norwood hit the ground running in the last and Centrals struggled to respond. Blew several chances to steal it back late in the game.

For some reason we struggled when playing at the northern end, kicking just the one goal at that end.

Some dogs supporters thought the umpiring was bad. It was, but it didn't cost Centrals the game.

Another Coopers Stadium epic - forget Sydney v West Coast, how about Norwood v Centrals at Coopers - last 4 games decided by a total of 12 points (and 2 wins each).

Norwood's revival continues and they've taken out some massive scalps on the way.

Finally, why doesn't Norwood offer at least part of the western grandstand for public seating. By charging, say $5 a seat, It would at least be another revenue stream for the club. The public section of the southern stand is horrific for viewing - if the pylons aren't blocking your view the netting behind the goals is. Then you can't see the scoreboard because a light tower is in front of it.

Probably take more out of a loss than a win 2day tbh.

Got 2 say cennals05 is an an absoulute legend, the norwood supporters have vacated the pub, yet she is still willing 2 smash experimental drinks like moose juice

There were more 50/50 decisions missed for both teams than you think, norwood were not favoured by the umpires i think we both had lucky decisions for and against. As for goals from frees i think we would have got just as many as centrals. I think 5 of centrals goals came from our turn overs. The way we dominated that last quater we could have won by 4-5goals. Good win but not getting carried away.

Mid 2007. Prior to the first Coopers epic in mid 2008, the 4 previous Norwood v Centrals encouters were big wins to Centrals (smallest win was about 51 points).

What's that stat BP - average age of supporters in attendance for the free kids day? ;)

Have you got the stats for how many 25s were given against the Gowans boys? ;)

I didn't think the umpiring was great for either side, but I've seen worse performances this year. Nor do I think the umpiring contributed to Norwood winning or Central losing.
