Did this eventuate and if so did anyone get along to have a look at the game?

yeah they played them, but some players playing League for clubs didnt play like J solly from port.
But as for the SANFL getting a trial against mostly centrals under 18s is stupid. they cant beat anyone. but i did hear that Henderson and one of the Gowans brothers made comebacks from injury. but Hendo may have strained that hammy again

They also played the Sturt U18s (plus a couple of younger Reserves guys) the week before.

Have won both comfortably.

No under 20's game due to no state game this year. WA play Vic this weekend.

Centrals that bad that they played the SA team out of form.

My understanding is the sanfl are trying to get permission for some 19 year olds to play for sa this year.

That's right the U18 State team playing Norwood reserves, which will be interesting given that Norwood will include at least 8 or 9 of their top U18's/better performers for that game.

Has the leadership group been announced for the team as yet ?

I'm assuming with Jarrod Schiller and Ben McIntyre allocated the number 1 and 2 jumpers respectively, that they may be C and VC ?

If this is the case, congratulations to these 2 boys, in fact the whole squad, and all the best for the upcoming carnival boys.

If he is skipper, well done to Jarrod, who I've been watching closely with the Doggies reserves, he has been playing some great football.

Phil
No the allocation of #s 1 & 2 have nothing to do with captaincy and vice-captaincy.
Theses roles have yet to be decided on.

Just wondering why there are two guys born in 91 that are in the squad? Both have already turned 19.

Thanks for clearing that up ML, much appreciated...

Any idea of potential leaders from within the group?

Well allegedly, because the two Victorian teams are lacking quality ruckman they lobbied for, and were successful in getting, up to two 19yo players in each team.

These have to be nominated in the squads of 40 and the SA players are Zac Fitzgerald WWTFC and Gavin Roberts NFC. This also provides a second oppportuinty at the carnival for players who were injured last year and were not able to play in their prime drafting year as 18yos as is the case with these two boys.

One of Vic Country's players is 200cm and one of the Vic Metro's is 199cm.

Would have thought there were some better 19 year olds around the comp than those two. Any idea on the ratioanle for selecting those two players?

Without getting into the debate about who is better etc, some of the players that look a bit unlucky (if the 19 year old rule is applied) include Matthew Rose (Port), Tom Jonas (Norwood - 19), Taylor Whitford (South Adelaide - the other handy Taylor W. in SANFL this year) and Sam Heinjus (Woodville/West Torrens).
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Only the AFL could have an UNDER 18 competition and allow 19 year olds to play in it.

And some play more than others. I've seen some clubs with one or two in and some with six for their matches.
