A very interesting match up this one and will tell us alot about where both sides are really at. We started in a blaze of glory and have not really hit those heights since Round 1. Eagles started well (Did play Port & Norwood in soft start to the year) and belted Sturt in Rd 4. Was dissapointed the Eagles lost to South as it may be the reminder they need to pick up their game, was hoping we might catch them cruising. Wish we had Godden & Welsh on our side where they belong.......

I agree 100% with your comments Aerie except I would go further and say he is completely overrated. He consistently talked of as an A-grade midfielder and yet I would only say he has only ever had one good consistent year with the club and that was a couple of years ago.

He is one of these players who looks flashy and people remember such an effort. However if you look at his stats he rarely gets more than 15 possessions which is not good enough for a midfielder.

If he is going to be played primarily as a midfielder in the league side he needs to be sent a rocket to lift his game and gain consistency or be dropped to the seconds to find touch.

However rather than being played as a midfielder I think he has value as more of a permanent forward. He always seems to kick a couple of goals there. So maybe play him there with minimal bursts in the midfield

Treeby is a vital cog in the side who is playing with an injury, limiting his effectiveness.

Some players can play with injury and still be an asset to the side. Some can't. I reckon Treeby will want to play pretty well this week to keep his spot in the side.

Changes are Stewart and Cheep in for Rimington and Staple.

The good thing for Westies is that whilst Lobbe hasn't been named for the Bloods, provided he doesn't get a late call up to the Power for the Showdown on Saturday, you would suggest Port will release him to play for the Bloods on Sunday against the Eagles.

I think I mentioned it another thread somewhere else, but with Ronaldson leaving West and Lobbe no certainty for thr Bloods, depending on his AFL duties, this might be a good opportunity for Ryan Willits to lift his game.

Bloods fans would agree he hasn't had a great year and has stuggled at CHF this season, perhaps the responsibility of being thrown the lead ruck position when Lobbe isn't there, might be the spurr to get his season going ?

Hmm, Our big man stocks outside Ferguson are pretty thin. Willits has proven that he is hardly a p[layer to build your side around. Can we give him back to either Glenelg or the Power?

Eagles side looks better balanced this week with one less tall (Staple).

Looks like Lobbe wont play. Krakouer has pulled out of the showdown and Lobbe will take his place.
