Who's blaming Glenelg?
Gary Metcalf says YES, it happens. Gary Metcalf says NO, it doesn't...
It shouldn't have been Gary Metcalf's call, that's why we have a Commission. To make football decisions in the best interests of football.

So you want Glenelg to get no say in moving its home game which was PROGRAMMED months ago?

Already told you what I believe. Don't want to accept it, your choice.
Just don't come squealing if we kick your arse at an Alberton match that could have been your home game.

I don't think they will come squealing.......I don't think you'll kick their arse.......you should be thankful this thread isn't titled "Changes to the fixture - 2010"

Okaaaay? That's either some kind of "in" joke or simply way too cerebral for me.
Mind you, I'd love someone to change the fixture on May 1st, which has the Magpies Vs South at Alberton, directly up against a Showdown.
But then I guess at Port Adelaide we're going to have to get used to that sort of thing.

Would say that I do actually agree with you on that point, yet clearly club politics are never going to allow one club to appear to be advantaged over another irrespective of what case they put forward or how genuine it is.
What is a pity is that Alberton does not have the capacity for night footy, i think its fair to say that Westies would be making some good money out of all the extra people coming in through the gates even with the electricity bill to account for! The Eagles v Norwood match last Saturday moved from being a Friday night match to a Saturday Afternoon game had 1900 at the game, I would suggest it would have been over 4000 or double if played at night and I do think that Port would get a taste of the same if they could put on some night matches themselves.

PUNTER wrote:BEENREAL - I am still interested in your reply to how this affects Season Ticketholders and Members. As a Glenelg Member and Season Ticket Holder I would get free entry to both the Glenelg Oval and Alberton Oval games.
So which option would Port be looking at:
a) Letting Season Ticket Holders into the AFL Match for free
b) Port would refund all season ticket holders or not being able to attend this game
I would see Port only option being to have played the SANFL game after the AFL game and charge those just going to the SANFL game those prices or let season ticket holders in or free. Meaning that the game would be played infront of bugger all people as parking would be to hard to just go to the SANFL game.
This idea would have had merit if everyone knew about it before the season started and they had purchased Season Tickets.

As turn about is fair play, I now would find it reasonable to expect an edict to Glenelg to swap their home game with Port Adelaide, allowing the Magpies to join the Power in a Commemorative, 140 year, Double-Header celebration at Football Park.
But much like the farcical Jeremy Clayton suspension, I won't be holding my breath for any favours.
Only that can be fair in the mind of a Port supporter.
Both clubs can't be 140 years old.
