Rodan was rotated a lot. Thought he ran the ball (probably 10 bounces) well and does draw extra defenders. I also thought 37 (Donohue?) played well and even had a banner on the fence from a fan!

Norwood showed some outstanding signs in the first half with direct, quick, footy. We lost but the signs are okay IMO.

Sorry mate but the signs are never good when you lose to South at home, that kind of mentality will keep Norwood at the bottom for a very long time.

Please don't tell me how to support. Yes losing to South at home is extremely disappointing but there were enough positives to tell me we're slowly on the right track. Were you there? If not then shut up please.

You can't go from the Hill era and from losing players and gaining NONE to all of a sudden being back to the glory years. It'll take some time.

Theres still plenty of talent at Norwood that they should not be losing to South at home, im not telling you how to support but saying there were positives tonight is being the ultimate optimist.

Blaming the umpires too?

All I said that there were some dodgy decisions. I'm not saying it was the reason we lost simply pointing out there were some questionable free kicks paid. My goodness...

My apologies for reading it that way. It's just when a supporter of the losing team mentions bad umpiring, you just put 2 and 2 together.

Can't remember. Just shows what a long and proud history we have.

Do you remember who was the sponsoring club for Centrals to be admitted to the league?

Loved every minute of being there tonight, South came back from a five goal deficit to win it and really showed some character to win it. Souths junior players took Rodan on and on a number of occasions he was beaten and pressured into actually turning over the ball. I think he is unlikely to be heading back to Port after just that performance for Norwood.

Peter Rolfe and Ben Warren were amongst my best players for South, for several players this is their second SANFL game, and as the game wore on you saw Souths tackling intensity increase and second and third attempts get cleaner and better, to get an away win is a huge confidence boost for the club and I feel we are a strong chance of seeing some significant improvement this season!

i saw 2 committed teams who made many turnovers especially in the first half, norwood had the opportunity to put south away & didn't & paid the price, south lifted the bar undoubtedly after half time & the pressure was great, norwood would have still won had they had a bench to work with & doyle was their biggest loss of the night as the lad that replaced him (sorry haven't got the budget with me) understandably couldn't maintain the effort for the entire match from when doyle went off.....can someone tell me who the player(s) were that smothered the ball (twice) in the last couple of minutes of the game ? (they were terrific & tenacious efforts), as for the criticism of the umpires i'd say while mistakes were made (norwood & south made more than the umpires) it didn't favour any team at all, norwood also definately need a strong big forward as their runners can do the job but they can't be expected to kick the majority of their teams goals as they have last week & tonight

ronny for mayor of noarlunga :D ;)

Am really proud of the players for fighting that out. At half time I thought the 27 point margin was too much but the players showed real character to fight back and win a close one. It was especially important to win it after last week. We seem to be heading in the right direction which is great. Am sure there will be some up's and down's ahead but hopefully we continue to improve and keep fighting games out. :D :D

IMHO this is a very accurate post mate ... Against a half decent side, South would have been 7+ goals down at 1/4 time - They were fumbly, gave Norwood too much space (which is really the only time we can play) and really should have been further behind - But they weren't and they had a steely resolve for the remaining 3 quarters, and their pressure was excellent.

Given they are a club that is building, and fair enough they will experience ups and downs, they are heading in the right direction no question IMHO ... I was also impressed with their support tonight and I couldn't begrudge you guys the future that may well be beckoning, I hope it's an enjoyable ride for y'all in the next few seasons.

The brainstrust at Norwood will be lamenting that lack of onball depth, and whilst it's a very prevalent problem that when fatigue sets in we are very weak in this area, the single biggest issue is that we are mentally destitute ... No doubt it isn't our only problem, but it's the one that will always provide the opposition with hope.

I've talked for a good 5 years now about Norwood needing to conquer mental demons and today it's still our biggest issue .. We are soft between the ears and until that's rectified it won't matter if you give us Gary Ablett Jnr, we will still only beat opposition who effectively give up and we all know that doesn't happen too often.

Lots of footy left and I hope Bass can find a way to address that.

Just got in.

Wow!!! Still on a high!!! Great win by the guys.

It was fantastic to see so much blue and white at Norwood tonight. I thought there were more South fans at Norwood then some Noarlunga games. The fans really got vocal tonight cheering the Panthers over the line and it was great to see so many smiling faces for once. Keep getting out to games Panther fans :D You can tell it means alot to the guys.

The side showed true character in getting back into the game after half time. The side showed true grit and desire to believed in themselves. Norwood seemed to buckle under the pressure that South were putting them under causing them to make errors.

Some fantastic coaching moves by Ronnie Fuller were made. No disrespect to Bassatt but I feel he was outcoached after half time.

Rodan is not a team player....shoot me down for saying it but the guy really overuses the ball, holds it too long and is too flashy for his own good. Trying to do things out there tonight to impress Williams and co. IMO He was beaten by younger guys then him.

Great to see some SAFooty posters tongiht at the game.

As I was driving home down the Parade, there was Ronnie Fuller in the medium strip...."Good on ya Ronnie" I yelled with my Panther gear on.....got the thumbs up!!!

Hope this is the start of something special at South........there will be good/bad times but tonight for once.....IT FEELS GOOD!!! ;)
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Just a quick question:

Did Alex Stopp actually have a touch tonight?

Seemed more worried about bumping and niggling Ben Warren than he was about the ball.

Credit to Warren for not retaliating as I'm sure many players would have just belted Stopp.

Cant sleep.
Great win especially when we were so far off the pace in the first half. South teams in recent times would have been brushed aside when they slipped 27 pts behind halfway through the second quarter.Tonight they never gave up. Sure there will be ups and downs but it gladdens the heart of this ol panther to see commitment like that from a South Adelaide side. If we can continue to provide that level of competitiveness regularly our crowds will grow and so will our wins. There is no doubt the influence Fuller has made to the team-we also have some pretty handy recruits. Keep up the good work guys!

..........could not agree more, even the Norwood people near me couldnt believe what he was getting away with. Warren still one of our better players though.

if dugga could kick straight stopp would have had 12 kicked against him in 2 weeks, he did all the niggling stuff but that doesn't get you the ball
