Port looked quite good for 3/4s, reading the swirly conditions better that Sturt - cleaner & more direct, marks were sticking, decisions going their way. Just couldn't put the Blues away though and when Sturt finally started putting some pressure on in the last term the momentum changed completely.

Really liked Hinge's game and can see him playing a very Michael Coad-like role all over the ground. Salim and Giles were patchy but showed enough. Craney was pretty ordinary early but came good in the last. McLeay looked to have done his ankle. Revelations for Sturt were #41 Evans (not Craig) and #29 Pittard (Puffs recruit)

Is that Fraser Evans, a key position player (mainly defender)? Looked very promising at times last year when given the chance in Reserves. Great pair of hands, physically ready for higher levels, needs to work on kicking a little.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

I was at the game and we were quite impressed with what we saw. Hard working, quick, reasonable skills, youthful enthusiasm... And a good crowd for a practice match.

Using the old analogy of "Learning from your losses", it being only a trial game, I'm not disappointed they lost.
