I still don't see the positive, Coopers only drinkable products only come in glass, there canned products are sh!t

I agree out of the tap is better but Dr Timms is still a HUGE improvement on the swill we've had recently.

Doctor Timms doesn't deserve to be called swill, it's much worse, there is only 2 beers I haven't been able to finish, Coopers Draught and Dr Timms

Pale and Sparkling I can drink, but the rest is sh!t

Dr Timms is Pale in a can.

No it isnt. Pale is brewed in the bottle, thats what make it so good. Beer cant be brewed in a can.

Well, no, its not exactly the same, just like West End Draught in bottles isn't the same as West End cans but I'm sure Ian gets the drift. ;)
I should have said "Dr Timms is "virtually" Pale in a can". My bad.
Tap Beer>Bottle Beer>Can Beer

An on topic question Booney, do the Prince of Wales sell Coopers?

Coopers are so proud of Timms that it doesn't even rate a mention on their web site

I heard a Coopers rep describe Timms as an "alternative to Pale", I've never heard anyone before you say it is the same. A few hardcore Pale drinkers at work drink it at times because it is cheap and they won't drink the real stuff in a Red can, they all say it is not as good as Pale

As I said, canned beer is never as good as bottled beer.
From Booze Brothers website:

A very similar brew to the famous Coopers Pale Ale but in the convenience of a can.

Anyway Ian, its not like you're a big drinker at the footy anyway and you'll have almost half the grounds to enjoy your drop at. ;)

Were they meeting with Coopers behind the SANFL's back?

Interesting no one has referred to this post booney. I reckon it could turn into quite an issue. Doesn't a different brewer sponsor the SANFL?

What does it matter who sponsors the SANFL? Norwood have been with Coopers for years. Glenelg change from this season as do North. Boon is just stirring the pot ;)

Glenelg isn't changing this season it is respecting the current sponsorship agreement with West End. Next year may be a different story.

I'm not sure if Booney is stirring the pot or not but to me it's a concern that Lion Nathan, who it was claimed on 5AA were just about to enter negotiations for a new contract with the SANFL, have been sideswiped by a club in pursuit of its own self-interest? Their pride will be significantly dented by this and surely it will impact on the amount of coin they will offer to the league and ALL its clubs.

Don't get me wrong, the more Coopers at the footy the better, but like it or loathe it you can't deny that West End's sponsorship of the SANFL has been a significant one over the years. It seems disrespectful to me for a club to effectively go behind the backs of the league's major sponsor. If Coopers are making a play to take over the major sponsorship of the SANFL then so be it but it seems an unethical way of approaching it. Until that happens I would have thought it would be in the clubs' collective best interest to support the incumbent.
