To me it looks like a training jumper. I had nothing to do with the design. The board need their head read.

Agree ME, it looks like a training guernsey.
And with Swampy - our current one is the one we should have been trying to build a tradition with.

I thought we had finally got it right with out jumper over the last three years, combining all the colours well with a good Eagle on the front in a good strong footy guernsey.
I didn't mind the first one, the Footscray-style one was another good, strong football guernsey, and I didn't mind the gold one that everyone else hated. But this is a backward step IMO.

Reading the members email I can understand their reasoning in trying to build a consistent and indentifiable brand by making the emblem and the guernsey more closer resemble each other. Unfortunately they have changed the wrong thing.

looks ok. Mind you, we keep harping about "traditional" style guernseys and then when someone designs one we say it's boring!

Just a question, is that the home AND AWAY guernsey, or just home?

interesting question though.......would Port drop the prison bar jumper if they were asked to modernise their jumper for a stack of sponsorship $ enough to keep them alive for another 5 years?......and I don't mean by the Power......

I didn't think another club would try and get a worse guernsey than North's away strip, not sure if they've achieved it but bloody close

Absolute shi#thouse.

Whoever gave approval should be sacked. I have no problem with a mainly gold colour but it looks cheap and is totally unimaginative. I reckon a primary school kid could design something better than that.

As far as modernising a jumper - rubbish. Is this any better than our jumper in '93 ????

The eagles admin have done a good job until now I'm afraid. Seems this is the consensus of eagles supporters so far and the majority of the opposition.

Yep, agree Mr.Fuller. What was wrong with the one we had? No doubt you will get as many detractors for rescinding this change, but it should be done.

Perhaps this will finally unite all the old Woodville and Torrens factions

Having gone out to Thebby tonight to see what all the fuss was about, I thought it looked great. Finally we have a guernsey that doesn't look like a throw back to Torrens or Woodville and from what I could get out of the officials tonight, no matter the issue of design, this is exactly why it was done.

It makes sense to me, although I am not a former West Torrens or Woodville supporter - I AM AN EAGLES SUPPORTER.

Get with the times people.

LEH, it's MUCh better than the guernsey in your Avatar. Anything with detail in it gets lost when you're watching from the sidelines or on TV. Ditto for North's. It'll come across much better on TV, so from a marketing perspective I think it's a winner.

Sturt's premiership celebratory guernsey looked terrible from a distance but great up close. Seeing as I could only see it from a distance, either on TV or from the sidelines, it looked ordinary.

True, it's better than our 2006 one, but I don't see what was wrong with our previous one.

I actualy like the use of Gold as the base colour of the guernsey afterall it is the common colour from both the Woodville and West Torrens era. I would like to see more Blue and Green used though. But I do agree with the general concensus though why was there a need for change.

I was a big fan of the old gurnsey with the big Eagle and not having seen the new one up close i think its going to take a while to grow on me.....however in the article i read on Adelaide Now, Chris Davies mentioned brand recognition and I would imagine that is what would have driven the change.

The future of our club (and all the others) is kids, ask kids who support the other clubs to draw a picture of their teams jumper...pretty good chance they could as they are reasonably simple to draw...ask a kid to draw an old Eagles jumper...not an easy task, this one will be much easier.

Pretty sure the tiser had a pic of it in about a week and half ago in an article about Fielders being the new shorts sponsor for the crows, major sponsor of the Eagles and one of the teams down south, thought then it was a new training jumper.
Trust the process.
