Oddly enough I feel better about our prospects heading into this season than any other in recent times .. I certainly don't think we'll be a premiership threat, and I know we haven't recruited, but let's face it we'd recruited pretty well/heavily in the 2 previous seasons so it's now fly or die time for most of those blokes (with some deadwood already removed).

We have a good batch of kids coming through and you could plonk a witches hat in the coaching box and it would be an improvement on recent seasons, so there will be a gain in that department (how much remains to be seen I guess).

May well come back to haunt me, but I don't think we'll be chasing the spoon.

Agreed CP.
However, I would suggest wholesale changes should occur without a final 5 spot.
Personally I'll be very disappointed if we don't achieve a top 3 or 4 finish, given the current 'vibe'.

A bit tough on witches hats there.

I reckon they will be around the same mark as this year, even a little higher...

My finihsing positions would be something like this...

1. Central
2. Sturt
3. Glenelg
4. North
5. West

6. Eagles
7. Norwood
8. South
9. Port

I do agree that the Maggies will have another poor year and will more than likely take the wooden spoon from the Panthers

yeah its probably a bit of wishful thinking with North but i think teams like the Eagles and West have really improved their squad, Norwood finished of the year really well last season and i think they have alot to build on, while i have heard very very very good things about the Souths new young midfield recruits. I put North there but wouldn't surprise me if they finsihed inside the top 5.

interesting to see out of 94 votes, theres zero votes for west. must be real pleasing now for westies supporters that they arent seen as the SANFLS whipping boys. also suggests the appointment of collins has been very successful to date and looks like a real threat this year with some key recruits.pity for west they couldnt keep welsh though, would have added a lot to the forwardline.
for what its worth i voted port, more out of hope than anything, south in my opinion are just as bad, but have signed a premiership coach so 50/50 south or port really.

Wasnt that we didnt keep Welsh, just didnt want to pay him what he wanted...it was the clubs choice.

Just for fun, it might be interesting to see this years possible ladder outcomes, based on the
difference in your club's game scores against last years premier and current 'yardstick', Central.
Is this another number crunching job for 'The Spellmeister' ?
Or will gloating 'doggies' with a calculator have a go ?

They probably won't come bottom, but I hope they do. We are part of their country zone and they are a disgrace. Cancelled the junior development programme this year and seem to be showing the same amount of interest in the area as when they did when Doug Thomas was at the helm.
