Good work South, look forward to heading there for a night game...

No worries mate, I know the feeling... :(

Bring on next Wednesday, 3 weeks holidays... :D

I just had my three weeks holidays upgraded to permanent holidays. Sacked just before xmas 3 years in a row. Anyway, enough sooking :(
Would they allow cars parked around the oval for night games at Noarlunga? I imagine high beam flashing would be a distraction.

noarlunga night games when the weather is warm which is the start and end of seasons would be perfect.

Agree and along with Richmond will be perfect for preseason night trial games while the weather is still hot

Yep, those 40 minute drives can be killers......

Always get a good laugh out of city folk and what they consider a long drive.....

Not everyone drives mate. For example what about a person who was reliant on public transport who lived in the outer northern suburbs. It would take a good 40-50 mins ride into city and then the equivalent if not longer ride south. Your looking at least 2 hrs if you can get good connections.

The cold wont matter if we can park our cars around the oval.......... this will be like going to the drive-in movies like back in the good ol' days :)

Following the side you love can indeed be difficult. Therefore I propose that clubs only play against one of theirr nearest opponents to cut down the travel time.

So, Centrals would always play North, Sturt play Norwood, South play Glenelg, West play Port and Woodville can play West Torrens.

Its great we will have lighting for league matches in 2011!
Now Glenelg really need to get in on the act!
Is it the club do not have the finances to get lighting? Or is it the stingy football hating Holdfast council holding lighting back?
Whatever the case it would be in the Glenelg football club and the SANFL's best interests to make it happen! They would get good crowds at night games!
What better than watching South beat bang bang bays at the bay oval on a friday night! ;)

To seriously answer the reed question my guess is that it was a Photo taken from file
when they did a story on redeveloping the site behind the oval (between oval and college).

Also on a serious note lights at Noarlunga could be a BIG winner to get more locals along.

A Saturday night game in a region with a noted lack of entertainment for the local youth
NOT going head to head with SFL matches would be a winner.

Then when South get competitive on the field who knows.

Personally I dont think Central use their lights enought, maybe when as Kris Grant said on
radio early in the year they do an upgrade we might see it grow.

To have the first few months of the season with
- Friday night games close to the CBD (Norwood, Richmond or Adelaide)
- Saturday night games either at Elizabeth or Noarlunga
- and the other two games SaturDAY or SunDAY
would be great.
