I think both these players maybe somewhat shocked at a new club, not sure how it would sit with them if they are playing second fiddle to other players....... gooduck and goodbye... fantastic to see the club isnt interested in changing their minds, best line of the paragraph.

Wedgie Boyd and Parry are under contract to South, therefore whoever wants them will pay a hefty transfer fee.

Both good players and dissapointing to see them go but if they are not interested in being there what do we do?
Should at least get some good money for them!
We need ruckman and badly!!!

HAPPIER TIMES: James Boyd and Craig Parry at South before last season

SOUTH Adelaide duo Craig Parry and James Boyd have advised the club they want out at Noarlunga.

The club released a statement before its preseason training began last night stating it would immediately begin negotiating the players’ transfers to another club.

``The club will not be looking to attempt to change either players decision,’’ the statement read.

``The South Adelaide FC is committed to its brand of Visionary, Can-do and United.

``Success is difficult enough to achieve when organisations do live these values. It is close to impossible when all players are not united in their desires.’’

The departure of the ruckman-rover combination is a blow to the Panthers hopes of a quick climb up the ladder next season.

Parry is a three-time state representative while Boyd won the club’s best and fairest in 2008, the same season he finished runner-up in the Magarey Medal.

Would love to see Boyd end up at Central, could this be the reason for Central not continuing follow ups with Salim Hassan.

There has been lots of speculation who Central have and haven't tried to sign so i won't believe this one until it becomes official but he would be the perfect replacement for Slade, his proven at SANFL level, young and a in and under style midfielder. Also probably wouldn't be tagged at the Dogs with them having so many players going through the midfield.

From what i have seen of him, Boyd is far, and i mean far from an "in and under style midfielder".

Those whispers must be coming from Parry himself because as of yesterday lunch time the club hadn't spoken with him.

;) ;) ;)

Don't care if Boyd is an inside, outside or, in and under player, he would look great in a Red and Blue jumper in 2010,
everytime we play them he has plenty of touches and uses the ball to team advantage on each occassion

Boyd, drop in at the Parade, you will be most welcomed, can't officially sign you on till 1st March 2010, but you
can trust our hand-shake

Cheers

I don't think that it would be the first time that Boyd has spoken to them.

If Port get Boyd, and his co-onballer is Summerton and they lose Clayton - who is going to go and get the ball?

As players who sit back off the ball, Boyd and Summerton are more like 'Bomber' Clifford than 'Bomber' Clifford. :)

I don't know much about Boyd other than I know he had a good 2008 and got plenty of the ball. The Eagles have not had a true rover (not counting Skipworth when AFL listed) in the last 10 years so Boyd could be the answer. But we need a rover who has pace. Does Boyd have this?

As for Parry, I hope the eagles steer well clear from him. I am not denying he is a very good player and he certainly has killed our ruckmen (including Lindsay) ever since he came onto the scene. It is just that the guy is a troublemaker around hte club, plays as an individual and is a thug on the footy field. We don't need players like this at the Eagles and Ron Fuller is also of this mind I believe.

Sojourner wrote:The clear advantage for South is that the two players are both under contract, so they will both be going to the club that has the most $$$ to make an offer in Transfer fees to gain their services.

Disappointing that they are leaving, yet one of the main problems at South has always been players that play for the club yet not for the jumper. Cutting players like this loose is the only way for the club to move forward. Archard, McGlone and others have all taken the same step which is very disheartening, yet if they are not all about the jumper of the club then its for the best. Lets hope that South with more room now in the Salary Cap can pick off some other Recruits of the same calibre to replace them and more so. :?

they will look good in red and white if thats the case

Is there anything to the rumour going around at the moment that Norwood are over the salary cap limit again???

If this Boyd is as good as people say he is, then I wouldn't be surprised if Centrals are chasing him...we've got plenty of money up this way at the moment...he should get used to receiving his match payments in a brown paper bag...

So he'd be a straight swap for Slade then?
