Whilst he did take some screamers and excite fans, more often, the ball would fall to ground and because he flew with the taller players (from his own side), there were no crumbers. I infer that collins wanted more discipline from him and to keep goal-side of opponents when the ball came in. This never happened.

If this is true he'd better learn otherwise he won't be long with Centrals

and the Gowans boys have never been known for their pace. If Laird can instill the team plan and discipline into Salim, then he will be a good get.

Yeah has been know to over do it when playing with lower sides and not winning games, falls away from team rules because of this.
Can't see this being a problem at Centrals when you have everyone pulling their weight and winning games.
So he should be a very handy player with the best side in the comp.

Along with Craig Taylor and Zac Millar. 3 pretty good signings who have all played league football before

central has opted not to take millar & taylor but have offered hamilton a preseason run.

Centrals must have a Tardis like salary cap.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Yes, with all last years "gun" recruits, and all the big names (excluding Hassan) mentioned so far in this thread.

Tommy Hamilton is a local lad who has played at Eastern Park in the SAAFL for a few years. Is a very good footballer but would need to increase his fitness level to make it at SANFL grade.

Hassan not signed with anyone as yet as far as I know, just gossip and usual chat for this time of year...

Sounds like he'd be hard to fit under the cap, Big Phil. ;)

Centrals never make any statements about recruitment until about a month before the season starts. So everything written here about Centrals recruitment is rumour and innuendo.

While it's true the dogs don't make a song and dance about recruits they still are around the place during pre season. If Hassan is with the dogs he'll be spotted doing training runs and heading into the club within a few weeks (if not already). Just a question really of whether the people who spot those guys care to tell the rest of us.

If a player goes out for a run with the squad it doesn't mean that he has a contract.

Also if a player commits to the club but hasn't signed, e.g Tod (business end of the season) Grima.
