Only thing I'd change in what you wrote is 9 seasons, not 8 (2001-2009).

ST...

that is 9 seasons.

The original post referred to 8 - not 9. I originally had '9 seasons' in quotes, but got rid of 'em - should have kept them in for you, GMc - philistine!

ST...

P.S. Ron Fuller is a Premiership Coach in the SANFL - against the modern era's first powerhouse - stick that in ya jumper HOLDEN78!

Full credit goes to Ron - 9 seasons as coach, 8 finals series, 4 Grand Finals, 1 Premiership. Along the way he has also developed a number of promising juniors into very good League footballers. I wish him all the best for the future whatever that might hold.

I am certainly amazed at the criticism ... maybe some Eagles supporters are being too optimistic about where their team should realistically be at the moment. No harm in wanting to get better but from what I have read in the past few months, a few of you solely blame Ron for whatever you think is wrong with the club, which is very naive because one man doesn't make a club. Don't try to quote alleged conversations with players who aren't happy, that happens at every club.

Yes I think Micky Godden is a great pick up, but he can't work miracles and perhaps you will appreciate that sometime in the next couple of years.

I asked this question in another thread. Where do you think the Eagles should have finished this year and where do you expect to finish next year?

Realisticaly a fourth placed finish this season was as good as we could have expected - I believe a top 3 finish isn't out of the question in 2010.

Although I cant find the link to the specific episidode, Ron Fuller was interviewed on "KG and the General" and is reported to have expressed interest in the SAFC Coaching Position. Dependant on the time commitment required from the club for the position.

If that is true then Ron would have to be a strong chance at coaching at South in 2010! - Hope so anyway! ;)

Then he'll be available when South sack their next coach. Seriously though they need someone like him to pull the club/team into line. But then I thought Cahill was going to do that.

If not for the Doggies the Eagles would have had five flags, not just one. Fuller did a great job getting the Eagles up and keeping them in contention.
