Brant Chambers- North would have had a Premiership with him in our '06 or '07 side.

If I could draft a player in to play for the Eagles this weekend it would probably be Corey AhChee.

please explain?
we lost to the Eagles by 7pts in 2006, who went on to beat Central.
In this theoretical topic, I believe would've been the difference.
Then again, you support Glenelg- you know very little about winning Premierships.

Absolute rot, Punk Rooster.

I'd have the WWT Eagles Mark McKenzie - Centrals would have had a premiership with him in our '03, '04, '05, '07 or '08 sides - like the other 21 did!

Easy to explain.

North in '06 & '07 under Jars were a free running, very high scoring side. Goals weren't a problem ... defence, meh, who needed it!

But apparently the best full forward in recent times was going to give them the edge to go a step or 2 further in those years. What, 20 goals a game wasn't enough?

Mate, looking in the wrong place for the Holy Grail. ;)

On talent alone it would be hard to go past Clayton, but given our situation and list at Norwood, I'd still take one or both of the Gowans boys.

We could use the concrete pills they would bring, the culture they help keep in place at the Ponderosa and their professionalism.

Chambers may be the leading goalkicker and I don't want to denigrate his ability but he relies on delivery from up-field. When teams blanket out the mid-field he scores very little - ie the games this season when he has played against Glenelg.

Would that not be true of any full forward?

I doubt any full forward would kick a 4 goal a game average unless the midfield gives reasonably good supply.

Haven't seen any sanfl full forward, going up the ground to get kicks like say a Buddy Franklin.

I think it is a reasonably given thing that if the midfield is struggling to get it forward properly, then you aren't going to kick goals.

I would have liked Chambo to have a few games or quarters up the ground a bit to add some flexibility to his (and Sturt's) game.

Didn't happen so it is all academic.

Damon White - With Evil & Schelly in the twilight, a quality key position player who can play back or forward will be required.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

He's getting on and I'm not sure really how he went this year, but for a few years I wondered how Cicolella (don't think that's spelt right) would go playing on the same team as the Gowans. Crickey two of them give other teams enough grief. Could you image those three together.
