CENTRAL District has maintained its phenomenal record in finals, over-running Sturt by six points in the dying moments of the qualifying final.
Coming from 13 points down with five minutes to go in the final term, the Bulldogs displayed calm under pressure and fought back against Sturt momentum to kick the final three goals.
Central District 11.9 (76) defeated Sturt 10.9 (69).
Outstanding performances from ruckman Jason MacKenzie and co-captain Paul Thomas spurred on the Bulldogs win.
The result puts Central through to the second semi-final against Glenelg next week while Sturt will face Woodville-West Torrens in the first semi-final at AAMI Stadium.
