I still don't understand the complete pessimism from Sturt fans and neither do I understand how everyone thinks its the Dogs who will take out the flag without so much as raising a sweat? What is it with you people? I don't recall people being this hopeless when the Magpies were winning flags left, right and centre. They won flags every couple of years for a hundred years, Central have only been top of the pecking order for a decade? Geez...

Just about every team in the league has had a good decade where they dominated and won heaps of flags... Port Adelaide, Norwood, Sturt, South Adelaide, Port Adelaide a few more times and even some teams had great decades with limited premierships but lots of runner ups, Torrens and West Adelaide are obvious. So c'mon people, stop being so self defeating. The Dogs have been a GREAT side, but I didn't see them turn up and win by 10 goals week in week out.

No one here can say that less than 100% from the Dogs is enough to beat Glenelg or Sturt on top of their game... those two sides will pound Centrals if they turn up half hearted, that in itself should give people some heart.

Now just for the record...

... I'm going Glenelg v Sturt for the grannie... just have a feeling Sturt might crack an appearance...

... but that said, Glenelg will be PREMIERS in 2009.

Come on Bayman, you're old enough as a Bays supporter to know when and when not to talk your team up. God your whole mob have come together in unison this year to down talk your chances of a flag and you expect me to come out with what I think? Back your team in for the flag now...or are you soft? ;) Enjoy the ride old man.

not talking about betting "Pa", just about backing your team in with confidence as all Bays supporters should now be able to do with their dominance of the comp over the last 2 years and 3 consecutive years of finals. Come on Bays supporters, let the lid off and start backing your team in FFS.
And Bayman, I roughly know how old you are and the old man jibe wasn't meant as a bake. Enjoy your footy.

LOL, why so worked up about Bays supporters?

As Dire Straits would say ...

Why worry, there should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now

One team 3.5 wins clear of 3rd, the other 2.5. Both play a basic style of footy that is hard to break down under finals footy pressure (make no mistake I know which team has the proof that they are the masters of it and which team is approaching the end of a four year apprenticeship of developing that game style). Both teams have shown all year, particularly in the last half of the year as the finals approach, that when they "up" the pressure and intensity only the other side can go with them.

Both teams will only get stronger over the next few weeks with players returning from injury.

Both teams should make the GF but that doesn't necessarily mean they will if they take any of the other three sides for granted.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
