How about the one where either Cockshell or Pat Cash on the wing, took the mark against Chris. Chris stood the mark and copped a full elbow to the head. When the umpire ran in I thought he was going to report him. Couldn't believe all he did was point his finger at him and give him a talking to. Didn't even reverse the kick to Chris. Worst decision of the day.

First time on here in 48 hours, only just now recovered from a huge weekend !! Thankfully, I was never chained to a stobie pole, at least I don't remember that anyway !! No idea on the crowd number, there was nothing in the sunday Mail or 'Tiser today, perhaps the SANFL can tell you.
Don't remember much of the Buck's Night, other than the fact I won about $700 at the Casino and shouted about 20 blokes Pizza Revolution at 3am on Hindley. Was gonna get a tat next door but the line up was too big so we ended up pulling up stumps around 5am, only to get home to all the girls still partying from the Hen's night back at my place, so we just stayed up drinking until the sun came up and then I shouted another 20 people bacon & egg rolls for breakfast, gees I'm generous !! Nothing to bad happened that I can remember, after about 25 beam & cokes it all becomes a bit fuzzy !!
Anyway, was a great day all up, including the Doggies winning pretty comfortably, but I must say I was dissapointed with Jason Torney's cheap, high shot on Paul Thomas during the game. I though Torney was better than that, and of course, as soon as Centrals blokes stick up for Thommo and get in Torney's face, he gets the free kick and the decision is reversed !!

No I don't reckon it was Franky who made the decision, pretty sure it was everyones favourite umpire, Colin Rowston !! I do remember Frank when I was at EP but also from when i was living with the olds at Craigmore, he lived 3 or 4 houses down. Frank was pretty good on Saturday and talking to Shane Harris a few weeks ago about him, he said, like you have mentioned, he is one of the best 'bouncers' of the ball and that (at the time) Mr Manikis wasn't too far away from making his league debut (which of course happened back in Rnd 20). Also agree about Torney being frustrated and maybe he figured he could get away with a bit more considering he has chosen to retire at seasons end.

Robert Laidlaw @ Messenger Community News wrote:Warren: Captaincy would be an honour
CANDIDATE: Ben Warren is Jason Torney's
pick to replace him as South skipper
SOUTH Adelaide star forward Ben Warren said he would be honoured to take over from Jason Torney as captain next season but it’s not something he’s thought about.
Speaking after the Panthers suffered their 17th straight loss, this time to Central District on Saturday, Warren said there were plenty of players capable of filling Torney’s role in 2010.
But last week Torney said Warren was a prime candidate.
``Being captain isn’t anything I had thought about but it would be an honour,’’ Warren said.
``We have plenty of capable leaders in our group, including Bradley Crabb, Mitchell Sandery, Mathew Smith and Ben Neagle, all who would do a good job.
``Off the cuff, being a genuine full forward perhaps would make it unusual for me to be captain, as there hasn’t been too many in the past. At the end of the day though, someone will step up.
``We have had some good role models as captain in recent years, in Kym Koster, Clay Sampson, Trent Mills and Jason Torney, so there are some big shoes to fill.’’
South showed signs of matching the Bulldogs in the first quarter on the weekend and led by five points into time on.
But mis-directed kicks going forward, failing to play accountable football for long periods, and an inability to link in cohesion proved costly at crucial times.
But some of that is expected with inexperience, as half of South’s team is younger than 21.
And it was the Panthers’ older players who were best on the weekend - Torney (32), Josh Thewlis (25), Adam Cockshell (23) and Michael Handby (26).
Coach Clay Sampson was again left frustrated with his inconsistent side, and has his work cut out to get the Panthers up for a victory over the final two weeks of the season, against Port at home and North at Prospect.
``Through the first 20 minutes of the game we looked good, but then the work-rate dropped off,’’ Sampson said.
``There were some good patches though, and the endeavour was there. Jason Torney fought hard in the backlines but did not have many mates.
``For next season we need to continue our plan with the youth, while recruiting some key personnel, with four or five quality midfielders, a key position player and a ruckman.’’
With the Magpies looking for a new coach and on a five-game losing streak, Port may be vulnerable this week, if South can find some consistency.
