They don't of course, BUT it's something I've been calling for the last 2 season, I even started a poll on here from memory...
I think with all "Team of the Year / Decade etc" there seems to be a common occurance that 4 get selected on the bench so one more bloke gets picked.
The SANFL surely has to look at 4 in the bench for next season, it seems like common sense to me, SURELY ???

Cutting the cap and increasing the players doesn't work

Yes it does, if you just pay them all a little less each doggies4eva![]()
Then you find out who really wants to play for the jumper or just for coin

Agree about Bello - he has played in 5 winning GFs - maybe that is better than 1 magarey so Clayton would drop out. Also both O'Sullivan and Callinan have played in 2 winning GFs both very good players. Sorry to be parochial but I know more about doggies players than the opposition.

playing in a gf doesn't necessarily make one a good player.
just ask aaron keating.![]()
but callinan is a good player - doesn't have the service level required i'd have thought to make the team

Bello, Whiteman, Squire, and dare I suggest Luke Powell would be more worthy on that basis. Interesting there is no Westies players, but surely there were some there from 2000-04 ie five years who contributed to them making the finals in those years?
Spot on mate, and I agree about the Luke Powell being a worthy selection, but once again, as with Bello, Witeman, Squire etc etc, at whos expense in the side is the tough question. On the Westies possible selections, as I mentioned above, Adam Richardson WOULD be a worthy entrant IF the best full forward this decade, Brant Chambers, hadn't played SANFL. Maybe one player from the Bloods that I always admired and was certainly a solid contributor was Ed Richardson, the former skipper.

Yep, wrongly put. Chambers has the best record as Full Forward this decade, but I'd pick Schell ahead of Chambers at Full Forward in my team.
